⭐️ Brandon U12 Match Report ⭐️
Brandon U12 headed to Fakenham for their league game.
Brandon started off well putting Fakenham under pressure and trying to win the ball back as early as possible and deny Fakenham any time to play. Our defence Jude, Braden and Archie keep a compact back 3 and organised by U12 Club Captain and goalkeeper Sienna.
Within 5 minutes Alfie found himself with space in the middle of the pitch and drove forward and firing at shot at goal putting us 1-0 up.
Brandon battled hard to keep us 1-0 with sienna making some great saves to keep us in the game and our engine Callum closing down every player. Brandon continued to attack and Alfie played a beautiful through ball through to Jayden who slotted it home to make it 2-0. Fakenham soon bounced back and put us on the back foot making us defend as a unit, Fakenham found themselves infront of goal and made it 2-1.
Half time came as a team we discussed what we could do better and our aims for the second half. We knew this was going to be a hard 30 minutes and focusing on the team core values that was picked prior to the season the team knew exactly what we needed to do.
The second half started and Fakenham started the brighter team, controlling possession and making Brandon work hard, fakenham again found themselves through on goal and made it 2-2.
As a team we knew we had to dig deep now and start playing our way of football. Fakenham kept us on the back foot and firing shots in making SI wNna pull some cracking saves off and demanding her area on 1v1’s. Fakenham kept pushing an in the end scored making them lead the game 3-2 for first time.
Brandon kept pushing but couldn’t seem to stay composed in final third. Fakenham broke forward again and won themselves a penalty. Sienna made herself big in goal…… and managed to put off the penalty taker who’s shot went wide. As a team we knew this was a let off and knew we had to start working to get ourselves in the game. Each player started to dig deep and foubd the courage to play. Alfie with an amazing run down the wing fired the ball across for a bullet header from Jayden making it 3-3! Game on.
We pushed and pushed and pressed high up the pitch causing Fakenham to panic under pressure. As a team we also knew Fakenham could break at any point. Jayden received the ball out wide, took on 1, took on 2 and fired the ball home to make it 4-3.
With 5 minutes left we on knew we had to keep the tempo high with fakenham pushing for the equaliser, with this we found ourselves in an attacking over load, Alfie played a through ball putting Isaac in on goal but the keeper made the save to keep it 4-3.
The fulltime whistle went and Brandon took the full 3 points with a 4-3 win.
Massive shout out to Fakenham for their amazing hospitality today!
