History - Old enough to know better, young enough to keep on rocking. In 1934 Karl Reusch manufactures his first pair of gloves in the attic of his home. With great passion, love for details and the vision to create incomparable, innovative gloves of the highest possible quality, the first pairs are being sewed manually by hand. While developing and improving glove engineering for decades in 1972 the needs of professional alpine athletes are finally met. Son Gebhard Reusch joins forces and Reusch enters the industry with a collection of specially designed winter gloves and starts expanding activities in the market. Just one year later in a close co-operation with German goalkeeper legend Sepp Maier, Gebhard Reusch develops the first goalkeeper glove in history. A milestone for the world of soccer and Sepp Maier as well, winning the World Cup just one year later. In 1984 at Reusch´s 50th birthday, Reusch is world market leader in the sporting glove segment. Searching for new market segments, in 1989 Reusch introduces its first skiing apparel and 3 years later the first team sport collection. In the beginning of 2000 Reusch expands their product portfolio even further with helmets and goggles. Since 1974, most of the Soccer World Cup titles have been won with gloves by Reusch. Since 1972 alpine athletes wearing Reusch gloves won app. 75% of all available medals at major skiing competitions such as Ski World Cups and Winter Olympics. After celebrating Reusch´s 70th anniversary in 2004 Reusch takes it back to the roots and concentrates on what we know best, delivering professional alpine and soccer gloves for amateurs and professionals.
