Keswick Archers new page

Keswick Archers new page Members ages start from age 7+ An excellent opportunity shoot arrows surrounded by the Lakeland Fells! We have even had Olympic archers shoot in our field!

Want to let off some steam or start up a new hobby, come down shoot some arrows with us , starting from scratch or just want to work on your technique that's fine we have two very experienced coaches who are there to help. All welcome, from those that have never picked up a bow to experienced archers. Archery is for everyone! Our club is very family friendly. Our two top coaches are a father-daugh

ter duo and often parents or children of members often decide to join our ranks after giving it a shot. That said, we would suggest starting them no younger than 7 years old. Also children do need to be accompanied by an adult. Beginners course: 6 hours of coaching by experienced GNAS coaches. These hours can be spread over 3 or 6 sessions/days. £30 (£5/hour). All equipment is included and provided. Half the year (April – September) you can find us on the far side at Keswick Rugby Club. The other half of the year (October-March) we move into Keswick’s old Pencil Factory. Any questions, just ask we are more then happy to help.

Evening all. Not sure if people are keeping an eye on our planning application and petition. We've had some great news 2 of the objection letters have now been retracted and are now all for the application going though which is massive massive plus for us. If anyone else wants to write a letter of support who hasn't done so already would be amazing. The ref number on the planning application is 7/2026/2025 change of use for grazing land portinscale. Our meeting is on the 3rd of June. a hand full of our members are putting together a presentation for this and hopefully we will get the full support from the planning board to keep our club going. Thankyou all for your much needed support so far

Fellow archer's Keswick archers NEED your help unfortunately someone has reported us to lake District national park planning enforcement for using the field before we have managed to get our contracts for buying the field sorted and the field use changed, we are now actually at risk of losing the grounds. If we lose our ground our club will CLOSE DOWN. We have been told because it's on a flood plain we might not even be able to get planning permission to actually change the use of it. But using policy 23 on their website about the community help and support we provide we might stand a chance. We need as much help and support from the community as we can get, so if you have a spare 10mins to write us a letter to say how the loss of our club grounds would not only affect us but other clubs from all over great Britain as well. As some of you know we have a few members with physical and mental disabilities. Our newest member is blind and rob has made a piece of equipment which is proving to work an absolute treat and our member is loving it and doing exceptionally well. We also have got 2 previous members back due to Rob finding and supplying a chair which gives them the ability to shoot again. The more support we get the better chance we have at winning this fight. Please email me over a letter for me to print off. Your help is very much needed and very much appreciated. Send the letters over to my email address please

What had an amazing experience we had today It's a 1st for our club but most certainly won't be the last. We had an incredible young man who wanted to come down and have a go with us he's completely blind we are so very proud he chose to come to us and can't wait to have him back and hopefully it'll incourage more people to come down. Our head coach Rob built an aid to help him and he stood by him the whole time helping him with his posture and get him to feel when the bow felt comfortable enough to release. We were so impressed we decided to score him and as we knew he would he absolutely smashed it and got 201 he can't wait to come back. It just shows you can do anything you set your mind too he's such an inspiration
