🏑☀Come and have a go at Rush Hockey at our Club Open Day! ☀🏑

Join Braintree Hockey Club on Saturday 11th July from 11:45am – 12:45pm and give Rush Hockey a try!

Rush Hockey is fast, fun and a brilliant introduction to hockey for all ages and abilities. Lots of families play together, making it a great way to get active, socialise and enjoy hockey in a relaxed environment.

Played on half a pitch with fewer players, bigger balls and small goals, Rush Hockey keeps things simple, friendly and enjoyable for everyone.

There’ll also be plenty of fun for the whole family throughout the day, including:

Can’t make the Open Day? The club also runs weekly Rush Hockey sessions every:

🏑 Interested in becoming a hockey umpire?

England Hockey are running a number of FREE Level 1 Umpiring Workshops throughout August, and places are filling up fast!

The course is open to anyone aged 14 and over and is a great way to build your confidence, improve your understanding of the game, and start your umpiring journey.

What a day! 🏑☀️ ~60 of our BHC juniors and parents headed out for an epic FIH Pro League trip, and it did not disappoint!

From taking part in friendly warm-up matches to meeting loads of their hockey heroes, our juniors absolutely smashed it. 🙌

The hockey on display was top-tier too:
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England Men 4 - 3 Australia 🇦🇺 (What a win! 🤯)
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England Women 0 - 3 Germany 🇩🇪 (Gave it their all! 💪)

The sun was shining, the festival vibes were immaculate, and memories were definitely made. Let’s make this an annual tradition, shall we? 🗓️✨

🏑 Braintree Hockey Club are looking for someone to provide post-match teas for the upcoming season 🏑

The role involves Saturdays from September to March (excluding half terms and with a break over Christmas), catering for approximately 4–5 games each week.

Food would need to be prepared and served throughout the day to the teams. Examples of meals could include chilli, pasta bake, and similar hot food, with the ability to cater for food intolerances and dietary requirements where needed.

The role would also involve collecting plates and tidying/cleaning up after each session ready for the next teams.

We would also be looking at the possibility of selling food to spectators and helping serve at the bar between games, so applicants would need to be over 18.

A food hygiene certificate would be required, or a willingness to obtain one.
