Our Par 70 parkland course features tight tree lined fairways, water hazards and fast true greens, and is widely considered to be one of the finest in the county by amateurs and professionals alike, and currently enjoys 15th place in the top 100 golf courses in Essex. Originally established in 1891 we are proud to be one of the oldest clubs in Essex, but also one of the most modern. The course is
playable throughout the year, with full tees and greens in operation at all times. As a private members club we are proud of our heritage, whilst looking equally to the future to provide an excellent golf course and facilities to our members. But at the same time we recognise the value of visiting players and societies alike, and whilst much of the time members have full access to the course, visitors and societies are made very welcome on weekdays throughout the year. Following a vote we now operate an online tee booking system for members - visitors and societies are strongly recommended to contact the club well in advance to avoid disappointment. Our excellent practice facilities include a 500 yard long game practice area, 200 yard practice fairway, short game area with covered bays, chipping green and 18 hole putting green, and just recently our brand new purpose built practice nets. Away from the course we have a beautiful modern clubhouse, with excellent facilities including the main restaurant, two bars, a function room and panoramic views over the golf course from the patio.
