Oops⌠did you do it again? đ
Overate before dinner because you got home starving?â¨Opened the w**e you promised you wouldnât have because youâd had a stressful day?â¨Ordered everything on the takeaway menu because you were ravenous?
This is exactly what Iâll be asking my nutrition clients to look at this weekâŚ
Iâll be asking them to identify 3 moments in their week where things tend to go off track and weâll plan how to handle it before that moment arrives. Goals like âI want to lose 2 stoneâ is fine but itâs destination, it doesnât help you tackle the journey of what to do at 8pm on a Tuesday when youâre tired, hungry and negotiating with yourself about raiding the cupboard.
So the plan is simple:
âWhen ______ happens, I will ______.â
Eg âWhen I finish work starving, Iâll have my planned healthy snack on the way home rather than arrive home over-hungry and binge whilst cookingâ.
âWhen we have a takeaway Friday, Iâll choose what Iâm ordering before Iâm too hungry.â
Most people donât need another diet plan.
They need better coping mechanisms for the moments that derail the plan they already have.
If you keep finding yourself in the same situation and making the same wrong turn, donât keep relying on more willpower, have a plan!
Your goal tells you where youâre going, but your systems decide whether youâll actually get there.
Ps if you donât have a system, thatâs what my nutrition coaching does đ
