'Contemporary Dance is a style of interpretive dance that has elements of several dance genres, it is not restricted by rules and embraces innovation and improvisation and aims to connect the mind and the body through fluid movements.' All classes at ๐๐๐๐ช are contemporary dance classes or as I like to describe them โa little out of the boxโ!
I began my dance career aged 4 taking Ballet, Tap and Modern classes at Bradford Sunshine Dance Studio. I moved to Footsteps Theatre School aged 12 and also joined Idle&Thackley Junior Theatre Group. My passion was always to teach. In June 2013 I graduated from Hull University with a B.A(Hons) in Dance Practice and felt it was time to open my own dance school, to continue along the path of teaching and inspiring young people who share in my love of dance.
๐๐๐๐ช ๐๐ถ๐๐ธ๐ ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฝ๐๐๐ opened in March 2014 and ran 3 classes per week, we now run 10 classes including private classes, a boys only class and a drama class! Classes at ๐๐๐๐ช are for children aged 3-18 years and all abilities are welcome. I always strive to focus your child's energy whilst they have fun, building friendships and confidence, learning to express themselves and of course learning to dance/perform! Benefits from joining ๐๐๐๐ช include general fitness, increased confidence and the building of social skills. All ๐๐๐๐ช performances are tailored to all the individuals who take part. Students are encouraged to contribute to the planning, choreography, costumes, lighting, music and the overall theme of the performance. So far we have performed 12 very successful sold out shows: Open Door, Follow That Dream, Stand United, 134 Feet, Enjoy Every Step, Going For Gold, Roll Up! Roll Up!, Dare To Be Free, Phobia, Phoenix, When I Grow Up and Once Around The Sun - all at the Kala Sangam Arts Centre in Bradford. We always hold a raffle at our performances to raise money for the Prostate Cancer UK Charity and so far, have raised over ยฃ1,900! We are a locally based dance school running classes for your children. Classes are held in the dance studio at Goals, Kings Road, Bradford.
