As we reach the end of the season, the lads are going through the gears at just the right time to push themselves into promotion contention for a second successive season. And this performance was a true statement that when they are in the mood, they are capable of great things.

The boys raced out of the blocks straight from kick off, playing downhill and forcing an early drop goal. This early enthusiasm set the tone for a dominant first half. When called onto defend spells in their half the boys stood firm, on the counter attack they were deadly, and when going through sets they were patient, waited for their moments and struck with ruthless efficiency.

Playing uphill in the second half, the boys showed that same determination. Again, the crowd were left with an early indicator that their concentration would not wane, when what appeared to be a certain try for the hosts was cancelled out by some incredible “never say die” defence on the wing.
What followed was another half of dominance; team work and the parents were treated to some spectacular free-flowing rugby. This was a complete performance from all the boys. We finish the weekend in the top 4 and ready to make one final push for promotion.

Every player played their part and should be incredibly proud of the performance they put in today. It was fantastic to watch the boys work together, back each other up and leave everything out on the pitch.
