Getting to award a black belt in Jiu Jitsu is a great honour and a responsibility I hold very dear.

It is a privilege to be able to give someone something that so few people in the world will ever experience. A black belt represents many years of hard work, sacrifice, struggle, doubt, and challenge. It is never given. It is earned.

Every black belt has had to overcome obstacles along the way. Injuries, setbacks, life pressures, moments of frustration, and moments where quitting would have been the easier option. To recognise that journey in another person is something truly special.

Yesterday I had the honour of awarding two fully earned and truly deserved black belts to two men who have stood the test of time. They held their nerve, their grit, and their character through every challenge placed in front of them, and came through it all to join a very small group.

Congratulations. I am extremely proud to say that Dawid and Bilal are my two newest black belts 🙏🫡❤️
