Idle and Prospect met in the Summer Cup on
Thursday evening, with Idle looking to gain the 3 points and with Prospect looking to keep up their good run of form in this competition.
We’re underway, and the conditions are ideal, except for a bit of wind. Early corner for Prospect comes to nothing. Prospect keeper change, hand injury. Another Prospect corner, Idle can’t seem to get out of their own half, corner doesn’t even beat first man.
Prospect free kick now, rebound comes to Adam Medley who whacks it into the top corner from 30 yards out, what a goal. 1-0. Equaliser straight away, number 7 with a tap-in following a scramble in the box. 1-1.
Almost 2-1 but keeper rushes out and gets to the ball before Brandon James. Head injury for Idle, small stoppage but he’s up.
2-1 cross from Zak finished by Logan McGhee. Bit quiet now as we head towards the break.
Half time 2-1
Second half is underway, and two prospect penalty shouts, both for handball, neither given by the referee. Adam Medley with a similar shot to the first half, this one’s just wide. 3-1, free kick comes in from Logan and Josh Best nudges it in.
4-1 now, Callum with the ball in and Brandon James scores with the header against his former club. Keeper change again for Prospect, leg injury this time. Medley goes in net. Almost 5-1, Stephen Thwaites almost puts one in the bottom corner, it goes just wide.

MOTM: Adam Medley, great goal and that stint in goal was class from the man who apparently plays anywhere!
Idle rarely threatened, and Prospect look good going into the season and sit top of the table. The only blemish being the opening day loss to second placed Low Moor who have a game in hand on the leaders.
