We are a full-time Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club that offer a wide range of classes for all ages and ability’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling art.

Its main principle is taking your opponent to the ground, controlling them and then submitting them with a choke hold or joint lock. It’s a martial art that suited for everyone, regardless of your age, sex, size etc. There are so many benefits to practicing BJJ, some of which are; self defence, flexibility, strength, weight lose, fitness. It teaches you how to problem-solve and over come difficult

situations, it teaches you how to stay calm, it gives you confidence, it can improve your balance and co-ordination. Its also great for discipline...the list is endless! The first class is FREE for everyone so come along and see for your self :) We now also run a Beginners Adult class for those who have never tried it before :)

Some moments in Jiu Jitsu stay with you forever.

This week at the ADISA seminar I had the privilege of promoting Rich Quirke to black belt.

Rich started with me as a complete beginner. Every belt, every stripe and now his black belt has been earned here at Dream Art Bradford. As a coach, that’s an incredibly special journey to witness.

He’s never taken the easy route. Rich has competed at every belt level, becoming an IBJJF European Champion at purple belt and winning British titles throughout his journey. He has always led from the front.

But what makes him truly deserving isn’t the medals. It’s the person he is.

For years Rich has given his time selflessly to our academy, helping build one of the strongest junior competition teams in the country, coaching our Masters team, giving up countless Sundays and playing a huge part in everything we’ve achieved. Even this academy has his fingerprints all over it.

Sam and I couldn’t be more grateful, and we’re incredibly proud to call Rich and Kelly our friends.

Nobody deserves this more.

Alayna levelling up to her Grey and White Belt! 👏

So proud of her.

Like so many children who start Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Alayna has had moments where things felt difficult. There were times she got frustrated and could easily have chosen the easier path and walked away.

But she didn’t.

She kept turning up. She kept learning. She kept pushing through.

Now she comes into class with a huge smile on her face, full of confidence and ready to train. Watching that transformation has been brilliant.

This is why we believe so strongly in Jiu Jitsu. It’s about so much more than learning techniques. It’s about building resilience, confidence, discipline and the mindset to keep going when things get tough.

Alayna is a fantastic example of how Jiu Jitsu doesn’t just create better athletes. It forges young people into stronger, more confident versions of themselves.

Congratulations, Alayna. Your Grey and White Belt is thoroughly deserved. We’re all incredibly proud of you. 💙🥋

After a tough strength & conditioning session, we had a chat about something just as important as fitness—what you put online. We reminded them that what they post today can stick around when they’re 26 and applying for jobs. We can’t always cover every lesson as parents or coaches, but we’re here to guide them to think ahead. Strong bodies, wise minds. That’s what we’re building.

THROWBACK PIC! 😳

One of the very first elite competitions we ever attended as a team.

Looking back now, it’s crazy to see how young everyone was… especially me! 😂

Fast forward six years or so and most of these kids are still involved in some form of martial arts. Many have gone on to achieve great things, whether that’s in sport, education, work, or life in general.

The medals and trophies are great, but what makes me most proud is seeing the people they become. The confidence, resilience, discipline, friendships, and life skills they develop along the way are worth far more than any medal.

We’re incredibly proud of the positive impact that our team, and Jiu Jitsu in general, has on the young people who walk through our doors.

Some faces have changed. Some have moved on to new adventures. But seeing where many of these kids are today reminds us why we do what we do.
