We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting a camp on Sunday, 21st June 4 - 7.30pm, dedicated to skaters between the levels of Skate Star 8 - BIS Beginner.

This is a perfect opportunity for skaters to fast-track their skating progression and get themselves ready for SSJ and BIS National competitions.

We will primarily be focusing on the levels outlined in BISC's SSJ criteria, allowing skaters to enhance a range of jumps and spins.

Aside from at least 2 hours of ice time, the camp will also include off-ice sessions to help you learn how to warm up before skating and teach you moves to improve your techniques on the ice.

BISC Members: £35
Non-Members: £45

Click the link in the comments to book.

The camp will be led by Bradford Ice Skating coaches Franki Wilson and Anya Morrill.

More activities to be announced very soon!

Message from Bradford Ice Skating Club re summer show:

SUMMER SHOW UPDATE!

Having listened to feedback from both members and non-members, we understand that, for many skaters, the challenges of exam season and the cost have been a barrier to entry. We tried to keep entry fees as low as possible, since the club would use them to pay the coaches for their time.

The committee has caught up today and decided to take an alternative approach: rather than a show format, run as a gala. We have also reviewed the financials for running the event, taking into account the events we have run to date.

What this means...

• As club members, we are going to make this event FREE to enter. Those who have already entered and paid will receive refunds. Non-members can enter for £5.

• Coaches will put you in groups at times that work for you, and these groups may include other skaters your coach teaches. Coaches may also collaborate with other coaches. You should pay your coach as normal for this lesson time.

• If you are interested in a solo (or a duet/group number with friends), please let your coach know, and we can add you to the list (or reply directly to the email you received). We will do our best to accommodate skaters' requests. Older skaters might opt to choreograph themselves. A reminder that the theme is 90s, so it must be a song from the 90s, or something that has been reworked (but the original must be a 90s song)

• You will still need to complete the entry form so we know who we have entered and can begin planning. Link is: https://forms.gle/47VA678kRHH5pm7Y8

Additionally, we have proposed to coaches groups such as inclusive, synchro, and the adult coffee mornings so please do discuss this directly with your coaches if you would like to do this.

Once I have all the entry forms in, we will review and share them with the coaches so that we can plan everything moving forward.

For next year, we will review the show dates and consider the best approach to the show based on our learnings from this year.

Thank you for the understanding and for the feedback shared. We always want our events to benefit our members, and we have listened to and taken this feedback on board.

90s Nostalgia Summer Show Saturday 4th July 5 - 7pm Closing date for entries: 18th May Fees include entry fee (non-refundable). BISC members benefit from reduced pricing. BISC Members: £0 Non-Members: £5 To join as a member, visit https://forms.gle/b3m7Lv2KnQ4ostxR8
