Here are some before and after photos of the w**d clearing in the park last week.

Thanks also to Harry and Becky who helped with litter picking after planting a cherry tree near to the Royal Meadow.

Thanks to all the volunteers for a good nights work. Look forward to seeing you again on Wednesday 1st July.

The weather is behaving for the moment so we are taking advantage and doing an hours volunteering tonight at Littlemoor Nature Reserve.

If you are ready for an hour of fresh air meet us at the Park Lane entrance at 6pm.

We are working on the round garden and compost bin tonight.

As we were rained off last week we are doing another session on Wednesday.

If any volunteers are available on Wednesday 10th June at 6pm please meet at the Park Lane entrance.

The plan is to concentrate on the round garden to empty the compost bins, w**d the beds and w**d the red cinder paths.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Ash trees are a much-loved part of our parks, woodlands and green spaces, but many across the UK are being affected by a disease called ๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ฉ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ฃ๐˜ข๐˜ค๐˜ฌ. ๐ŸŒฟ

Weโ€™re asking everyone to help us keep an eye out when youโ€™re out enjoying your local park or countryside.

๐Ÿ‘€ ๐—ช๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ธ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ: Leaves turning black or falling early
โ€ข Dead or dying branches in the tree canopy
โ€ข Dark lesions where branches meet the trunk

Ash dieback is a widespread fungal disease that can cause trees to weaken over time, which may make branches more likely to fall and pose a safety risk in busy public spaces if not managed.

โœ… ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ด๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ฑ ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜„๐˜€:
With early awareness and action, we can safely manage affected trees and protect both people and wildlife. Some ash trees may even show natural tolerance and continue to thrive ๐ŸŒฑ.
