Arrrr, we’ve got some important information for all ye landlubbers before we set sail for another fantastic morning at Lister Park parkrun, Bradford! 🏴‍☠️🌳

☕️ EDENS TEAROOMS 🍳
Not the Boathouse, me hearties! Edens Tearooms, across the road from Norman Arch (Tony’s Corner) in the shopping complex, will be open from 8.40am–9am. 🚻 Toilets be available too!

Why not stay after the event and feast upon their delicious breakfast? 😋🍳☕️

🥪 THE REFRESHMENTS ROOMS 🍰
These be opening from 9.30am next to Cartwright Hall. 🚻 Ye are welcome to use their toilet facilities, so pop in after your voyage and enjoy a post-parkrun sandwich, cuppa and cake! ☕️🍰

☕️ CAPTAIN NICK & HIS CAFE4U SHIP 🚐🏴‍☠️
Nick will be in his usual spot aboard his Cafe4u van, ready to keep ye supplied with endless amounts of his delicious drinks! ☕️☕️☕️

Arrrr, all first timers and visiting pirates, gather near the Bandstand at 8.50am for your First Timers Briefing with Jon. 🏴‍☠️

⚠️ ATTENTION ⚠️

There is a road closure on North Park Road on the Shipley side of the vehicular access to the park and may reduce on street parking. It would be best to approach the park from Oak Lane.

There is also temporary traffic lights near the 20mph sign at the bottom of Emm Lane which is holding traffic back 🚦 🚗 🚚 🚙 🚛

Please allow plenty of time to arrive.

🏴‍☠️ Ahoy, Mateys! Pirate Day is coming to Lister Park parkrun on Saturday 19 September 2026 at 9am! 🏴‍☠️

Dust off your pirate hats, eye patches and striped shirts, and join us for a swashbuckling Saturday morning!

Whether you’re running, jogging, walking or volunteering, we’d love to see your best pirate outfit. Fancy dress is completely optional—but the more pirates, the merrier!

So gather your crew, hoist the colours and set sail for another fantastic morning of fun, friendship and parkrun spirit.

We’ll see you on the start line… Arrr you ready for the fun! ☠️🦜🧡

An explanation of our Festivals of the Dead Project-

Lister Park Lantern Parade 2026 - Celebration of Life

'Festival of the Dead' Northcliffe Event

We have 2 lantern parades this year, our usual noisy community parade in Lister Park on 30th October from 4.30pm and our Northcliffe Parade on 14th November from 5pm, a quieter more reflective parade where we have opportunities to remember loved ones.

***There are lots of ways you can make lanterns for either of these events.

Death cafe style conversation and making workshops in City library and Shipley library. Check out 'Cecil Green Arts' on Eventbrite to book.

Also free family drop-in workshops in Girlington during October. All at St.Philips Church, corner of Thorn St/Washington St, Girlington, Bradford BD8 9QW.
Saturday 17th 12 - 4pm
Saturday 25th 12 - 4pm
Monday 26th 12 noon to 4pm
- including a Sendiverse Festival workshop for those with extra needs from 12noon to 4pm.
Tuesday 27th 12noon to 4pm
Wednesday 28th 4pm to 8pm

Or child friendly painted round lantern workshops on 30th October in Cartwright Hall. There are 4 workshop times - £6 per lantern. Search for 'Cecil Green Arts' on Ticket tailor.
