This coming Sunday sees the team competing in the West Yorkshire Women’s and Girls Prem 2 Cup Finals day!!!!

Our semi-final is due to commence 12:45 against St Chads Broomfield with the winners playing the winners of the first semi final between Menston and Skipton.

The day will be a celebration of all things great about the women’s game so why not come along and sample some fantastic cricket alongside being fully refreshed with plenty of food options!

North Halifax CC v St Chads Broomfield CC - Prem 2 League Match

After a false start last week the team was finally back in action in what is now hoped to be a busy 4 weeks!

Winning the toss Tilly opted to bat first in sunny conditions at Queensbury (yes you did just read that right! 😉)……..and it just got better and better from there!

Kirstin and Tilly opened and after seeing off some tough opening overs began to flourish on an excellent batting deck. Kirstin stroked to the ball to all parts in an excellent 130* (retiring with some overs to go).

Thanks to some superb running by Maddie and quick thinking by Liv, Tilly reached a maiden senior century scoring 2 off the final ball of the innings to do so (ending on exactly 100*).

The innings ending on 268/1.

After an excellent tea (a huge thank you to the Jenkins family) the team approached the second half with real professionalism.

After a steady start led by star batter Michelle MacVay, St Chads fell victim to an outstanding piece of fielding by Katherine who managed a direct hit from the boundary to run out MacVay.

Following the run out Maddie made up an unbelievable amount of ground to take a phenomenal caught and bowled and then, coupled with tight bowling from Ella, Maya and Poppy, wickets began to be taken regularly with Erin (2/4), Becky (2/6) and Madeleine (1/12) all chipping in.

St Chads ended the innings 88 all out.

Thoughts now turn to next Sunday where the team are competing in the Premiership 2 Cup Finals day at Low Moor CC. As always support from our loyal fan base would be ver much appreciated!!!
