P**A has released Version 2 of the Operations Manual guidance (IS010), bringing clearer expectations, new sections, and improved tools to help controllers meet their legal duties and strengthen safety across the inflatable play industry.

It includes clearer guidance on what is a pass, advisory and fail, for the presence of operation manuals.

Controllers should always seek the original manual from the manufacturer
But where they no longer exist, we have introduced a new section to help you risk assess your device and create a replacement operations manual.

IS010 - Operations Manuals, this document includes an Operations Manual template to create your own should you not be able to access the original from your manufacturer.

‼️Industry update‼️

P**A has identified there is variation in the availability of operation manuals by controllers. An operation manual has been a requirement for a long time, and is a key part to ensuring equipment is used safely.

To help address this, P**A inspection reports now refer to the availability of an operations manual to controllers.

We understand that some controllers will need to obtain one, update it, or even look to create one for older units. So there will be a 12 month transition period to allow this to take place.
