Stop starving yourself and expect to still make sustainable progress, even if your goal is weight loss…

Your body needs food to function at its very base level, even if you don’t move at all in the day!

Now, everyone will require different quantities of food based on lots of factors including activity levels, height, weight, age, and goals. Taking this on board, it’s important not to just copy what someone else eats because “if it works for them it will work for me”, because that is not the case.

Even coaches need coaches 🤝

Why do I, a coach, benefit from having a coach?

Well…

What are the basic standards of a coach?

- Plans out your training for you
- Someone to check in with
- Keeps you accountable

Previously, without a coach, I have been awful around my own training…

- I don’t listen to myself
- I don’t stick to something I have planned out myself
- I make excuses

You probably don’t want to hear this…

… What you put into your body matters.

And that applies to any goal you might have, be that lose weight, bulk up, get stronger, get fitter, build muscle, the list goes on.

In simple terms:

Calories in vs calories out is how we lose / gain / maintain weight.

How we make up these calories in does matter.

A days calories full of alcohol, snacks, treats is not going to give your body the sufficient fuel it needs to do what you are working so hard for in your training, again, whatever that goal may be.

Having full meals is important. Ensure you are filling each meal with a source of carbs, protein, fat, and micronutrients.

I am not suggesting your food needs to be boring and restrictive, just to make your food choices work with you, not against you.

Having a healthy balance and including the occasional treat is also important (last pic for a banging treat I had the pleasure of enjoying this weekend)

I ran my first half marathon race 🥹

This was just the best day. I signed up only 2 weeks ago on a “why not” whim. I expected to be slow but somehow pleasantly surprised myself by not stopping at all and averaging 45s quicker per km than I expected I’d do!
