If every time you avoid something due to risk you are stopping yourself from improving

Now some risk of course, would be silly to take

But I’m talking about calculated risk that could allow you to grow

Leaving that relationship that makes you miserable, looking for a new job that’s more fulfilling, investing in a fitness coach to finally feel proud of how you look

If you never take a leap of faith you are living a life of scarcity. Never knowing what could be if you had tried

Once you see risk as opportunity, you suddenly have an abundance of potential to grow

Lat bias pulls for back growth 📈

This is really what helped me developed a massive weak area before I competed in men’s physique

Coming from a powerlifting background prior to bodybuilding I had only focused on heavy hinges and neglected my overall back development

When we looked at areas of improvement, it was obvious my lats needed significant work to create the taper needed for men physique

Focusing on lat bias movements like this explode lat pull down and isolateral D-handle pull downs is what helped me with this

A few cues I found worked for me is ‘pinching the paper’ in my armpit to keep the lat close to the torso and my engaged

As well as focusing on driving my elbow down to my hip while keeping my torso rigid with minimal movement

6 months complete with my client James 🫡

14kg down in fat loss, leaner, bigger & stronger

First marathon complete ✅

Don’t think I could have asked for a better 6 months working with James

When we started we set some clear goals we wanted to achieve for the remainder of 2025

Obtain peak physical condition and muscle size, and complete a sub 4 hour marathon debut

Safe to say, we blew that out the water

From being out of shape, unable to run more than a 5k and not confident with how he looks

To peak condition, running marathons for fun and confidence through the roof

Now we set our sights on the next goal at hand - achieve photoshoot level condition 🔪

6 months is all James needed to completely change his life

That means if you act today, by the start of summer you could have it all

Expend more energy than what you consume

Adjust input (food) and output (movement) when needed to stay in a calorie deficit and keep losing weight

Do this over a long period of time

Fat loss achieved.

If you’re hybrid training you might want to consider taking out barbell squats

I find them more purposeful for running, allowing for a deeper stretch, more quad activation and generally a lower chance of injury

Barbell squats are still a great movement, and if you enjoy them, do it

I find a variation like SSB will be more specific and sits nicely alongside a hybrid athlete
