The Stage Door School of Dance and Drama was established in 1971 by Maureen Headford, Fellow and Examiner for the ISTD and one of the most experienced teachers of dancing in the Bournemouth area. She is assisted by her daughter Julie Headford, also a Fellow & Examiner for the ISTD . The school has branches in Bransgore and Sopley as well as the main Bournemouth School. What a great way to end a rainy Monday with the first class of our new Adult Tap. It was so lovely to see so many familiar faces return to the School as well as welcoming some new tappers. We certainly had a good time enjoying each others company, having fun and tapping our troubles away!!!

It has been a very busy and successful week for Louisa Frank! Here is a summary of what she has achieved:

ALL ENGLAND DANCE REGIONAL FINALS
Louisa qualified 8 solos and entered the maximum 5, Global, Classical Greek, Lyrical, Tap and Modern Ballet. She received very high marks and was 2nd in Global and has qualified for National Finals in July.

BOURNEMOUTH FESTIVAL
Louisa entered Global, Classical Greek, Tap and Classical Ballet and was awarded three 1st places and one 2nd, all with honours marks.
She was also awarded the Global Cup and Classical Greek Cup.

SOUTHAMPTON FESTIVAL
Louisa competed with 2 dances finishing 1st in Global and 2nd in Classical Greek, both with honours marks.
She was awarded the Senior Global Cup.

We are so very proud of all your successes which show your commitment and dedication not to mention a flair for choreography, as Louisa choreographed all her dances.

Well done to Alice Vernon-Mulryan who competed for the first time at the Bournemouth Dance Festival today in a Classical Ballet class. Alice was awarded a Commendation and all of us at The Stage Door send our congratulations! 👏🩰

Congratulations to Lauren Stokes for being awarded 1st place and Sienna Karimi for 3rd place in their section for Singing at the Bournemouth Performing Arts Competition.
Well done both of you! 👏🎶

We are very excited to announce a new ADULT TAP class starting in June at The Stage Door.
We would love to see some familiar faces return to the School as well as meeting some new ones!

A lovely day of ISTD ballet exams today. We had our younger dancers taking their first ballet exam - they were so excited! 😆 We also saw our Intermediate students take their last exam with us before they move onto dance college and university in September 😢 Also well done to our lovely Grade 6 candidates.
Louisa also entered the new ISTD Performance Awards today, performing a Greek and Spanish solo.
Congratulations to everyone for working so beautifully - we are very proud of the standard you have all achieved! 👏👏✨🌟

A fabulous 3 days at Hampshire Rose Dance Festival for Louisa Frank.

Greek - 1st with a very high Exceptional mark (over 95)
Global - 1st with Outstanding (90-94)
Lyrical - 1st with Outstanding
Tap - 2nd with Honours
Classical Ballet - 3rd with Honours
Louisa was also presented with the
Outstanding Musicality Award.

Thank you to the adjudicator Daniel Donaldson Todd, for his encouragement and praise, especially for Louisa's choreography.

Well done Louisa! 👏🏆

A lovely way to finish a busy term with two days of ISTD Modern, Jazz and Tap exams. Thank you to Miss Katy Colegrove for making the exams such a good experience for all the students from Primary to Intermediate.
We look forward to seeing all our students up to and including Saturday and then we wish everya happy and restful Easter break! ✨🐣💛
