Setbacks happen. A month ago I took a tumble and broke my ankle (swipe to see the break!), just in time for summer!

It’s been a hard month - as someone who enjoys being active I really struggle sitting on the sofa all day and relying on others for help.

Doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, things will happen that test us, but you can come out stronger - look at what you can do, not what you can’t, and accept that it won’t last forever.

My wings might have been clipped for a few weeks but I’ve managed to get out and about thanks to a knee scooter that was kindly lent to me - it’s been a godsend! As I like to say - when there’s a will there’s a way!

A rep is the number of times you perform a specific exercise! For example 10 squat reps is simply squatting 10 times 🦵🏻🍑

Forget about good foods and bad foods – they are just different foods, some more nutritious than others.

The ‘diet culture’ has led us to believe that certain foods are bad, making us feel guilty when we eat them. Chocolate isn’t a bad food - it’s not a ‘syn’, it’s just less nutritious than eating some veg for example.

There is nothing wrong with having a bit of chocolate or cake, just make sure you are also eating lots of nutritious foods!

Never underestimate the power of movement, for both physical and mental health. No matter how many times a week you make it to the gym, it will not make up for being seated for the remainder of your waking hours.

To effectively lose fat you need to be continually active throughout the day, gym or no gym! As a good starting point I would recommend walking 10k steps everyday 🚶🏼‍♀️🚶🏼You can work up to this in many ways; go for a lunchtime walk, take the stairs, park a bit further away than normal - the key is to move at any given opportunity!
