Meet the Coaches | Chris Park

One of the experienced coaches at KW Performance Cricket Academy is Chris Park.

Chris is an ECB Level 2 coach with a wealth of playing and coaching experience. Having worked alongside the likes of Monty Panesar, Graeme Swann and Ben Duckett, he brings a huge amount of knowledge to every session.

A former Northampton Academy wicketkeeper-batter, Chris also represented Dorset for 17 years, captaining the county side for the final four seasons.

Whether you're looking to develop your wicketkeeping, batting or all-round game, Chris's experience and passion for coaching make him a fantastic asset to the KW coaching team.

☀️🏏 With the UK experiencing a heatwave this week, it's more important than ever that cricketers take extra care when spending long periods out in the sun.

A full day of cricket can mean 5-6 hours on the field, so staying hydrated, protecting yourself from the sun, and recognising the signs of heat exhaustion are essential.

We've put together some simple tips to help players stay safe and perform at their best during the hot weather.

Look after yourself, look after your teammates, and enjoy your cricket. 💧🧢☀️

Jake is an ECB Level 2 coach, plays Division One Surrey Championship cricket for Walton-on-Thames, represents Bournemouth University 1st XI, and coaches across a range of ages and abilities. His particular strengths lie in batting and spin bowling.

☀️ The UK heat is making cricket conditions tough at the moment, with temperatures climbing well into the 20s across parts of the country this week.

Long spells in the field and hours in the sun can quickly lead to dehydration, affecting concentration and performance.

A reminder to all players this weekend:
💧 Stay hydrated throughout the day
🧢 Wear caps/hats where possible
🧴 Don’t forget the sun cream
🍌 Keep energy levels topped up during breaks

Look after yourselves out there and make sure you stay hydrated throughout the day. Long hours in the sun can take its toll during matches and training.
