A growing family run business established in 2003 - Bourne's premier health club changed location in 2008 to offer a wider range of facilities for the ever growing population. Having built a solid reputation based on providing a well equipped gym with knowledgeable, experienced staff, the Universal Fitness Centre now offers a class timetable with over 30+ classes a week, ladies only fitness suite and a comprehensive range of cardiovascular, strength and toning equipment that is suitable for the new trainer trying to shed a few pounds through to the competitive sportsperson wishing to elevate their performance. We are also home to a state of the art, ultra tanning, 225 watt sunbed, with a high performance powerplate available to members, at very competitive prices. Members range from 13 years of age to those well into their 80's, we are very familiar around the local area. We also stock a wide range of supplements to cater for all of your training requirements.

The end of an era.

Today we said goodbye to one of the most successful young men we have had the pleasure of meeting. Joined our gym around 5 years ago, merely a young kid with a dream. Today, he is walking out of here to pursue a job he has sought after for years with multiple competitions won, some insane achievements, and friends for life. Here are some of his greatest achievements:

- UKDFBA 2023 Southern Championships, in which he came 2nd to a bloke more than 3 years older than him.
- BNBF Midlands 2024 which he took 1st place
- Ultraflex 2024 junior open which he also won 1st place
- 300kg deadlift
- 155kg bench for 7 reps

Watching Efe transform from a boy to a man has been an absolute pleasure, and we are all so proud of how far he has come. Many people seem to believe that joining a gym is purely for lifting weights, but people like Efe completely contradict that statement. He is a funny, charming, likable, caring and ambitious young man who will no doubt go very far in life, and overcome any and every problem thrown his way.

Efe, we all wish you the very best for your future, we have no doubt you will flourish wherever life takes you. Go make us proud buddy🙏

MEMBER OF THE MONTH

Bronia is an outstanding Member of the Month, she trains with real commitment, always giving her sessions everything she’s got. She’s been part of Universal Fitness Centre for a long time, and her friendly, upbeat energy has become a familiar and much‑loved part of the gym. Whether it’s a bit of banter, a good chat, or simply her positive presence, Bronia brings a fantastic vibe every time she walks through the door.

And now… let’s talk about the photo. Harvey is fully sitting on Bronia like she’s a piece of gym equipment, and she’s holding him up as casually as if he was a foam roller. Her face says, “Light work baby". If anyone ever questioned her strength, this picture ends the debate. Bronia isn’t just strong, she’s Harvey‑approved strong, and that’s a whole different category.

Today we celebrate the incredible Gil Dempsey and her MANY years of loyal, dedicated service at Universal Fitness Centre. Gil has been more than just a team member, she’s been the friendly face at the door, the steady presence behind the desk, and the warm, welcoming spirit that made our gym feel like home.

Her commitment, kindness, and genuine care for every member have shaped our community in ways that will be felt for years to come. Gil is an excellent lady, a true professional, and someone who always went above and beyond with a smile.

We will absolutely miss her, her energy, her humor, her reliability, and the way she made everyone feel like part of the family. But don’t you worry… Gil will still be around the gym. She may be retiring from her role, but she’s not disappearing. She’ll still be here training, staying active, and of course keeping up her legendary “jaw training” with all of us, because we all know Gil loves a good chat with every member who walks through the door.

So let’s raise a glass (of protein shake, lol) to Gil, to her years of service, her heart, and her dedication.

Happy retirement, Gil. You’ve earned every moment.

The gents showers are good to go if you didn’t know already! There’s still a bit of work to do before the room is finished though, so please bare with us during this period.

Then we start work on the gents changing room! You’ll like that 😘

So you’re all aware, the gents shower room is just for showering and toilets. The end changing room is where you go to get changed and store your belongings 💪

is our August MOTM, and my word does he deserve it!!

He locks in 110% every single workout, he is committed, focused and extremely goal driven. He is one of the friendliest blokes we have ever met, so please do congratulate him if you see him around.

Beijan started training here early 2022, and his transformation is mind blowing. The amount of muscle gained, body fat lost, and experience earned is enough to make a man happy for life. Beijan is the pure definition of hard work pays off.
