Exercise isn’t just about weight loss or building muscle, especially for our generation it’s about improving our mobility, flexibility, balance and maintaining our strength to protect our hearts, our bones, and our minds. In a personal training session with me you’ll get workout that’s in keeping with your fitness goals taking into consideration any injuries, your likes and dislikes. In practice,

this means a bit of a warmup followed by the main body of the session, which will be exercises tailored to you. Cooldown and stretching, if applicable, will come at the end. Contact me if you want to learn more.

Myth: if I workout lots I can eat what I want.

Fact: you won’t lose a lot of weight with physical activity alone.

While exercise is hugely important for overall health, how much and what you eat has a much bigger impact on your waistline.

Research has found that people who have had success losing weight have a few things in common:
💡They weigh themselves at least once a week
💡They restrict their calorie intake
💡They stay away from high-fat foods
💡They watch their portion sizes
💡They also exercise regularly

But note: These people use physical activity in addition to calorie counting and other behavioral changes.

SQUATS!! There are lots of squat challenges around at the moment. Squats are amazing for toning your legs and bottom, butt 😉 make sure you’re doing them with the proper form to avoid knee damage👍🏻

1.Stand up straight with your feet shoulder-width apart, your arms down at your sides.

2.Brace your core and keep your head up & chest facing forward (don’t look at the floor no matter how tempting it is!), begin to push your hips back, bend your knees as if you’re going to sit on a chair. Ensure that your knees do not cave in and stay behind your toes, your weight is in your heels. When your thighs are parallel to the floor, pause (see pic).
