🎭☁️ CASTLE ON A CLOUD – AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT! ☁️🎭

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to our wonderful 11 JCADA singers who auditioned for Castle on a Cloud! 💜

They all did absolutely amazing, and the audition panel were so impressed with their beautiful vocals, professionalism and politeness. They conducted themselves so wonderfully, and we couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of them. They gave the panel such a tough decision that they have decided to rejiggle the song to make sure everyone can be involved! 🥰

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that ALL 11 OF OUR WONDERFUL SINGERS will be taking part in the Blackfriars Theatre 60th Anniversary Concert, performing together as a beautiful choir of Cosette’s, alongside 4 JCADA lovely soloists! ✨🎶

What a fantastic opportunity for you all, and we cannot wait to see you shine on that stage. 🌟

A HUGE WELL DONE to each and every one of you. We are incredibly proud of you for having the courage to audition, for giving it your all, and for sharing your beautiful voices with us.

💜 A LITTLE THANK YOU TO MISS ALISON 💜

A huge thank you to our lovely Miss Alison, who came in last night to take over our Belly Dance and Speech & Drama classes — and will be back again tonight to give me some extra support with our Acro classes. 🥰

The children absolutely loved having her! Miss Alison always brings so much fun and energy into the studio… including apparently turning an entire Speech & Drama class into little old ladies! 😂👵🏻 The photo says it all!

On a personal note, I’m incredibly grateful. We’re doing our very best to keep everything at JCADA running as normally and happily as possible, but it’s only been a couple of days since we lost our little Lulu and, understandably, I’m not quite my usual sparkly self just yet. 💜

Having Miss Alison there to step in, make the children laugh and give me a little bit of breathing space has meant more than she probably realises.

Thank you, Miss Alison, for being there 💜

And thank you to all of our JCADA families for the kindness and understanding you’ve shown us too. It really has been appreciated more than you know.

Rebecca did a fantastic job in her very first singing lesson with Miss Debi. She was incredibly brave, picked up her new song really well and was soon singing the tune confidently with the backing track all by herself! 🎶🥰
What a brilliant start to her singing journey at JCADA! We can’t wait to see Rebecca’s confidence continue to grow as she works with Miss Debi. 💜

🤎 Our Tiny Brown Legend 🤎

We wanted to share some very sad news with our JCADA families.

Yesterday, very suddenly and completely unexpectedly, we had to say goodbye to our beautiful little Talulah — our Lulu, Luli Chops and, as she will forever be known, our tiny brown legend. 🤎🐾

Many of our dancers and parents will know Talulah as one of our little reception doggies. She and Poppy have been part of JCADA life for many years — pottering around reception, keeping Mr Jim company, enjoying lots of fuss and, of course, always being very interested if there was food involved!

In fact, only yesterday morning Luli appeared on this very page, happily helping me pack our First Adventures bears and wondering why she wasn't being included! She'd had her breakfast, enjoyed a little potter around the crescent and was completely herself.

We had absolutely no idea that just a few hours later everything would change.

Luli suddenly became very poorly and, following investigations at the vets, we discovered several serious underlying problems that we had been completely unaware of.

She was 14 years old and had the biggest character packed into the tiniest furry body. She was precious, incredibly food-loving, wonderfully inquisitive and so very, very loved. We know many of our dancers and families will miss seeing that beautiful little brown face in reception too.

Mr Jim and I always try incredibly hard to make JCADA a happy, positive and professional place. Whatever may be happening in our personal lives, we normally leave it at the door and make sure our dancers are greeted with the same smiles, enthusiasm and energy.

But we hope you'll bear with us over the next few days if we aren't quite ourselves.

This has been an enormous and incredibly sudden loss for our little family, and we're both absolutely heartbroken. We'll continue to do everything we can to make JCADA the happy place it always is, but there may be moments over the next few days when keeping that smile firmly in place is a little harder than usual.

Thank you for your kindness and understanding. 🤎

🚨 URGENT CLASS UPDATE — WEDNESDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER 🚨

Good afternoon everyone,

Miss Alison WILL be taking the Level 1 Acro class as normal today from 4:00–5:00pm.

Unfortunately, due to an emergency, we need to CANCEL ALL CLASSES FROM 5:00PM ONWARDS this evening.

I’m so sorry for the very short notice and any inconvenience this causes. I will explain properly when I’m able to.

Miss Alison will be at the studio for any dancers who walk straight to us from school, so please don’t worry about anybody arriving before seeing this message.

Of course, all cancelled lessons will be made up.

🐻 FIRST ADVENTURES WENT ON TOUR! 🧳✨
This morning I had the pleasure of visiting Butterwick Baby and Toddler Group to deliver a free 30-minute taster session showcasing our brand-new First Adventures classes — and we had such a lovely time! 🥰
Of course, my suitcase of bears came along for the adventure too… although Talulah was slightly concerned about my packing choices. 😂🐶
I think her little face says it all…
“Mummy… you’ve packed ALL of these bears… but why aren’t you packing the extra little brown bear?” 🐻🤣
First Adventures is our new parent-and-toddler class for little ones aged 2–4 years, with lots of music, movement, imagination and fun to enjoy alongside their grown-up — and booking is NOW OPEN! 🌟
And First Adventures can come to you too! If you run a local preschool, nursery, toddler group or parent-and-toddler group and would like me to pop along and deliver a completely FREE taster session for your little ones, please get in touch. I’d absolutely love to visit! 💕

We are SO excited to say that booking is now officially open for our brand-new JCADA First Adventures parent & toddler movement programme! 🧸💜

Designed especially for little ones aged 2–4 and their grown-ups, First Adventures is all about moving, playing, exploring and growing together through music, movement, imaginative play and lots of colourful props. 🎶🌈

We are launching with two introductory 8-week courses, giving families the choice of:

🌟 Mondays 10:00–10:45am — beginning 28th September
🌟 Fridays 10:00–10:45am — beginning 2nd October

Our special introductory offer is £48 for all 8 sessions — just £6 per session when booked and paid for in advance. 💜

There’s something rather special about our Monday evenings.
Of course we love seeing the progress — stronger technique, growing confidence and all those little improvements that come from attending week after week and putting the work in 💪🏻
But one of our favourite things is seeing how our dancers support each other along the way. 💕
Because dance training is about so much more than the steps.
We do love a Monday night. 🥰🩰

🌟 OUR FIRST DANCERS OF THE WEEK! 🌟
What a brilliant way to start a brand-new term! 💜
We are so pleased to celebrate our very first Dancers of the Week for this academic year! 🏆✨
Whether it was fantastic hard work, extra focus, a brilliant attitude, determination, improvement or simply giving that little bit extra in class, these are the dancers who really went the extra mile during our first week back.
We absolutely love recognising those moments when a dancer stands out — not necessarily because everything is perfect, but because of the effort, attitude and commitment they bring into the studio. 💫
A huge congratulations to all of our first Dancers of the Week! We are very proud of you and hope those trophies have pride of place at home this week! 🏆💜
And, of course, we had to make the most of our gorgeous Open Day balloon arch while it was still up… it would have been rude not to! 😂🎈
What a fabulous start to the term. Keep working hard, everyone — we wonder who will be next… 👀✨

🎭✨ PANTO AUDITIONS 2026 ✨🎭

What an absolutely brilliant day we had at JCADA yesterday! 💜

We are incredibly proud of every single dancer who stepped into the studio and auditioned. Auditions can be nerve-racking, but everyone approached the day with such enthusiasm, focus and professionalism — and, most importantly, we had SO much fun! 🌟

One of the loveliest things for us was seeing the incredible growth in so many of the dancers who auditioned last year and returned to audition again this year.

Over the past year we have spent a huge amount of time focusing on our exam work — developing technique, vocabulary, musicality, performance skills and confidence — and yesterday we could really see just how much that work has paid off.

The difference in the speed at which dancers were able to pick up and retain choreography was particularly noticeable. Routines that would previously have taken much longer to learn were being absorbed so much more quickly, allowing the dancers to concentrate on performance, presentation and really showing us what they could do. 💜

That progress makes us incredibly proud. Sometimes improvement happens so gradually that you don’t realise quite how far you’ve come until you have a moment like this to look back and compare. ✨

A HUGE thank you must also go to our wonderful judging panel:

🎭 Jeremy — our amazing Panto Dame, returning to Blackfriars this year as Nurse Nelly!
🩰 Miss Emily — our newly qualified teacher.
✨ Miss Lucy — our teacher in training, who has also very kindly offered to help with some of our panto choreography this year, which we are SUPER excited about!

Thank you all for giving up your time, encouraging our dancers and helping to make the day such a positive experience. 💜

Now comes the rather enormous job of going through all those audition reports! 😂

We hope to have results ready to go out by the end of this week, along with each dancer’s individual feedback.

Whatever the outcome, every dancer who auditioned should be extremely proud of themselves. You stepped forward, gave it your best and gained another valuable performance experience — and that in itself is something to celebrate. 🌟
