We thoroughly enjoyed hosting a brilliant Katame-no-Kata course on Sunday.

A huge well done to everyone who took part, whether you were developing your knowledge and skills or undertaking an assessment. The standard, commitment and enthusiasm on display throughout the day were fantastic to see.

Thank you to everyone, for making it such a successful event. We look forward to seeing you all again soon on the mat!

Entry is now open, to our popular Shizentai Rumble. Suitable for absolute beginners and experianced judoka, adaptive judoka supported and where possible, adaptive catagories created. Age 4+. Entry is due to close on Friday 10th July, however it useally closes early due to demand.
Same venue, same set up, 3 mat areas, new medal design.

📣 Inclusion Webinar Series – Spaces Still Available

Following our previous post, just a reminder that bookings are now open for our Inclusion Webinar Series – and we still have some spaces available.

⏳ The first webinar is now just over 2 weeks away, so it’s the perfect time to secure your place.

These sessions focus on supporting the inclusion of judoka with ADHD, Autism, and Learning Disabilities, alongside practical strategies for managing behaviours of concern (such as hitting or lying on the mat). We’ll also cover realistic adaptations and reasonable adjustments within a judo setting.

Designed to be practical, supportive, and directly applicable to the mat – whether you’re a coach, volunteer, or involved in running a club.

Led by the amazing Bob Cleevely, who has represented internationally in two kata, bringing a wealth of experience and insight to the mat.
This course is perfect whether you're new to kata, looking to improve, or working towards grading/competition.

✅ Assessments available for any kata following the course ⏰ 3:30pm – 5:00pm

Huge well done to our adult beginners 👏
After joining us in the New Year and training up to twice a week, 7 of our beginners stepped up and graded last Thursday, all achieving their yellow belts! 💛 A fantastic achievement and a real reflection of the hard work, consistency, and commitment they’ve shown over the past few months. We’re incredibly proud as coaches and as a club. Special thanks to Bob, who led the beginners course and supported them every step of the way 🙌. This is just the start of a brilliant journey. 🥋

A fantastic weekend for the club at the Kata for All event at Bishops Stortford Judokwai.

Bob, Ricky and Richard spent their weekend developing their kata.
