On Monday 31st August, Blackmoor was delighted to host the annual Mixed Invitation, welcoming 20 pairs representing 14 different clubs for an enjoyable day of golf and friendship.

This year’s event was particularly special for Bob and Frances Hudson, as it marked the final Mixed Invitation they will organise after five hugely enjoyable years as Match Managers of the Mixed Team.

Thank everyone who has supported the Mixed Team and the Mixed Invitation over the years, to share some wonderful days of golf and friendship.

Jason Bastable – Order of Merit Winner!

A huge congratulations to Blackmoor Club Member Jason Bastable, who has been crowned the England & Wales Blind Golf Order of Merit winner.

The Order of Merit is decided across the season, rewarding consistent performances at EWBG events, and Jason has produced the results needed to finish at the top of the standings. Jason will compete in the Blind Golf World Championship next May 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

A fantastic achievement and a great reward for a strong season of golf.

On Thursday 13 August, our Past Ladies Captains’ Day - Golf & Lunch was hosted by Immediate Past Ladies Captain, Liz Fullbrook.

It was wonderful to welcome so many past captains back to Blackmoor for a very enjoyable day of golf, good food and great company.

A huge thank you to all the ladies who joined us and to Interim Club President Bob Shergold, who welcomed golfers to the course.

We’re delighted to give a shout out on our regular Ladies Day to a fantastic new elite women’s amateur event – The Heathland Vase, taking place at Blackmoor Golf Club and Hindhead Golf Club in 2027.

Created in response to a gap in the elite women’s amateur calendar, the championship will provide leading women golfers with the opportunity to compete for a prestigious trophy while showcasing two of England’s finest heathland courses.

Over two days, competitors will take on a unique 54-hole stroke play challenge across both venues:

📍 Saturday 7 August 2027 – Blackmoor Golf Club, 36 holes
📍 Sunday 8 August 2027 – Hindhead Golf Club, 18 holes & prizegiving

Entry opens in January 2027, but pre-registration is now available via the Blackmoor Golf Club website.

Congratulations to the Millennium Team who have got off to a fantastic start, winning their first five fixtures of the season, including outstanding away victories at Hayling and Ferndown – two notoriously tough places to get a result.

As it stands, with just two fixtures remaining against Stoneham and Royal Wi******er, Blackmoor are top of the points-per-game league table and well placed to bring home the title! 🤞 🤞 We will keep you posted!

Blackmoor Junior Open 2026

On Monday 10 August, Blackmoor hosted its Junior Open 2026, welcoming 73 talented young golfers from across the region.

The 18-hole competition was open to boys and girls under 18 who met the handicap criteria and also served as a qualifier for the 2026 Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship.

There was some superb golf on display, with congratulations to the four players who have qualified to progress to the next stage of the competition:

1st - Tiago Fernandes – Wellow GC – Gross 71
2nd - Alexis Owen – Ferndown GC – Gross 73 (OCB)
3rd - Harry Norris – Burhill GC – Gross 73 (OCB)

1st - Guy Phillips – Alresford GC – Net 64
2nd - Christina Stylianou – Hayling GC – Net 65
3rd - Xander Morris – Hindhead GC – Net 66

A huge well done to all 73 competitors for taking part and showcasing some fantastic junior golf. We wish Tiago, Alexis, Guy and Christina the very best as they progress in the Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship!
