Just a update on the shop phone saga, pls keep using the mobile number 07974189454 until fingers crossed the 10th September. Here's a copy of the e mail sent to BT
BT Business Complaints Team,
I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding the serious disruption to our business telephone service, which has now been ongoing since 18 August 2026.
We were originally informed that our existing BT contract was being cancelled because the department we were with was closing, meaning we were required to arrange a new contract. Since then, what should have been a straightforward transfer has caused a considerable amount of disruption to our business.
Since 18 August, I have made more than 15 telephone calls to BT and spent many hours either trying to get through, being transferred between departments or waiting on hold in an attempt to get the matter resolved.
We finally received the new telephone equipment on 2 September, and the new line became active this morning, 4 September. However, we have now been given a temporary telephone number until 10 September, when we have been told our original business number should finally be restored.
This means that Bordon Angling Centre has effectively been without its normal business telephone service for approximately three weeks.
For a retail business such as ours, the telephone is an important part of our day-to-day operation. Customers regularly call us regarding stock availability, product enquiries, prices, orders and general advice. Being without our established telephone number for this length of time has undoubtedly resulted in lost sales and a substantial loss of business, as well as inconvenience to both ourselves and our customers.
What makes this particularly frustrating is that the situation was not caused by any action on our part. We were required to change our contract because of changes within BT, yet our business has had to bear the consequences of the resulting disruption.
I would therefore like BT to:
Confirm in writing that our original telephone number will be fully restored on 10 September, with no further interruption.
Investigate why the transfer has taken approximately three weeks and required so many telephone calls to resolve.
Confirm what compensation or account credit BT proposes to offer for the prolonged loss of service, the considerable time spent trying to resolve the issue and the resulting impact on our business.
Provide us with a formal complaint reference and a named point of contact until this matter is completely resolved.
We have been extremely patient throughout this process, but three weeks without our normal business telephone service is not an acceptable level of service.
I would appreciate a prompt response setting out how BT intends to resolve this complaint and compensate us for the disruption caused.
Kind regards,
Andy
