A moment to admire.

We pride ourselves on focusing on the fundamentals of letting the boys be confident to play out from the back, “the BYFC way”. We won’t waiver on this, even if it goes “wrong” and goals are conceded, the lads will be encourage to play football in uncomfortable positions.

The swifts smashed this aspect on Saturday with a stunning team goal, finished at the other end of the pitch which started with the GK. 7 players involved, 12 touches and a great first time finish.

This is a style of football and a passage of play trained week in week out and it was amazing to see it come to fruition in such fashion in game.

Wow lads! Keep it up 🔴🔥⚫️

𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙥

𝗗𝘂𝗻𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝘃 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗳𝘁𝘀: An away game with only 9 players is always a concern but the boys proved there was nothing to worry about! After scoring five goals and keeping a clean sheet at the other end we cannot be prouder of their efforts! A relentless performance for the full 60 minutes and arguably the best they've produced in a long time. The boys put together some excellent patterns of play, showing patience and a real understanding of the style of play they are working so hard on 👏

Well done to Sean on his referees Man of the Match award - worked tirelessly all game, linking up superbly with his team mates in forward areas and bagging himself a brace 🏆

And well done to Zinedine Zidane, sorry, Aaron H for his Brig Baller Coin awarded for an individual moment of brilliance where he did a 360 degree turn, leaving two opposition players in his wake 🪙

𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘀 𝘃 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: Like their team mates in The Swifts, these lads were also down to the bare bones today with players having to play in unfamiliar positions to cover. A slow start and unlucky to concede an own goal but those are the breaks sometimes. Second half they clicked into gear and caused our opponents lots of problems, took more care of the ball and scored some very well worked goals. We say it most weeks but this group has something about them where they just stick to the plan and trust in themselves and it's brilliant to watch them...and it's brilliant to see them recognise where it's going wrong and why and then putting it right on the pitch 👏

Well done to Marcus for the referees Man of the Match award - his second of the season. He played left back, striker and centre back today and his energy and desire to make something happen resulted in two goals...and a fantastic cushioned header off the bar denying him of his hat trick 🏆

And well done to Rory for his Brig Baller Coin. Rory is a coaches and teammates dream as he just wants to compete, wants to win and wants to help his team by any means possible but with a fantastic attitude and bucket loads of humility. Rory came to us a winger and finds himself most weeks playing central defence...he doesn't moan, he doesn't ask to play elsewhere...he just produces brilliant performances and leads his team with great character. Today was no different and whilst there wasn't a top bins screamer or a single piece of great skill, we awarded this to Rory for his attitude... as that trumps everyrhing else 🪙

🩷 Pink Bib 🩷

Finlay Carrick with this weeks pink bib honour…

Finlay’s still in his first year with us and he’s had a belter.

He is an explosive player, quick, not scared to take his man on and in 1v1 situations you bet your bottom dollar he’s gonna score.

He’s found a really high level of confidence of late, something that maybe lacked for a small period of time - for whatever reason, but it’s amazing to see it return with aplomb.

His work rate has been through the roof, in game contributions in attack dynamite, pressing and defending from the front line and recently winning refs MOTM ; add in that he’s a great wee, polite & respectful guy to boot too!

Keep pushing Finlay it’s great to see 🔴🔥⚫️

𝙎𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙁𝙞𝙭𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨

Back into the swing of it as we head into Autumn 🍁

Some fantastic fixtures coming up for both squads as they continue their 9 a side experience.

𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙏𝙬𝙤 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙥

𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗖 𝘃 𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘀 - An excellent performance from each and every one of the boys against a good side who are well coached to play a similar style of football to ourselves. The lads were fantastic - hard work, desire and some suoerb passages of intricate play resulting in three well worked goals. A big shout out to the defence and goalkeeper for keeping a clean sheet also.

Well done to Kaison on his referees Man of the Match award - all game he kept the ball moving in midfield with simple passing and showing for the ball. He worked his socks off all day and never let his man get the better of him.

And well done to Liam for his Brig Baller Coin awarded for a crunching but fair tackle to stop a counter attack before jumping up and playing a great pass forward for Jacob and Kaison to combine for the third 👏⚽

𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗳𝘁𝘀 𝘃 𝗞𝗶𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗵 𝗥𝗼𝗯 𝗥𝗼𝘆 - Dominant football possession on display but a well organised Rob Roy defensive performance snuffed out a lot of opportunity at the business end including some great saves by their keeper too. The lads worked hard, strung some lovely moves together and defended astutely when required but just couldn’t find the back of the net.

Well done to Finlay for the referees Man of the Match award. He's found confidence in the forward role and worked his socks off, covered a lot of grass in the striker role and on the wing showing grit and determination both in attack and with any defensive duties!

And well done to Jay H for his Brig Baller Coin after once again playing a pivotal CB position of late and showed why he’s becoming more and more of an asset there, nice play by Rob Roy saw them attack through the middle which looked like a potential 1:1 V our GK but for Jay to time a perfect slide tackle taking the ball beautifully away and turning it over to his team mate.👏⚽

🩷 Pink Bib 🩷

The pink bib is back after a summer of hard work from the boys.

All the kids should be showing the fundamentals of the pink bib by now ; effort, attitude, work rate, passion, team work, engagement, enthusiasm, respect etc. so to win it now means adding a little more to the weeks training and games…

Aidan has added a side in the recent weeks and 100% in last week’s football, that as coaches we’ve been encouraging, sometimes demanding, that he adds to his game: known for his vision, calmness with passes, link up play and little first time flick and touches - it was the defensive side we wanted to see more of from Aidan.

At training he’s been putting in big tackles, tracking back and “getting a foot in” more and more, culminating in a full pitch sprint and slide tackle in training last week stopping a certain goal!

He’s taken that confidence into Saturdays game and worked hard defensively up the pitch and in his own half not shying from the defensive side of his game.

We always ask the lads to get out there comfort zone and show controlled aggression in different areas of football and #15 is taking that on board!

Keep that up Aidan! 🔴🔥⚫️

𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙜 𝘽𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙧𝙯 🔥

Whether it's scoring a screamer or trying something different without fear of making a mistake, we always encourage the boys to express themselves and show courage on the pitch and at training.

On Saturday we introduced our new way of recognising a player who does something that little bit special with the award of our new 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘇 coins.

These are up for grabs each game day but also sporadically at training when we identify a player working extra hard and showcasing their talents 🔥⚽

For the very first awards, there couldn't have been two sweeter strikes than what Jay D and Kaison produced on Saturday - outrageous goals lads!!

𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙊𝙣𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙥

Nothing beats the start of the season ⚽

And NOTHING beats having both teams playing back to back with a big crowd down at Anderson Park on a sunny Saturday morning 🙌

𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗳𝘁𝘀 𝘃 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗨𝘁𝗱: a complete team performance from the first whistle to the last saw the boys score some fantastic goals, hit the bar FOUR times and display several pieces of sensational individual skill into the bargain. Class, lads 💪

Well done to Jay D for winning the Referee's MOTM award for a really strong performance where he worked his socks off all day. And well done also on your double award winning the new Brig Baller Coin for scoring an absolute rocket into the top corner from range 👏

𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘀 𝘃 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱: lads were excellent from the first whistle creating numerous great chances but just couldn't convert...caught twice on the counter saw them trailing by two at half time. Second half they stuck to the plan and managed to turn the game on its head and get their well deserved rewards. This team just doesn't know when to give up 👏

Well done to Marcus for winning the Referee's Man of the Match award...caused problems with his running all day, scored a hat trick and came close with a few others. And well done to Kaison for winning the Brig Baller Coin for a fantastic powerful strike from distance that was in the net the second it left his boot 👏
