A fantastic evening of competition for our athletes at the Joe Moran Masters Meeting, with four club members representing us and delivering some brilliant performances! 👏

• 🥇 🥇 🥇🥇 Gold – High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, and Javelin.

• 🥈 🥈🥈 Silver – 100m, 200m and Shot Put
• 🥉 🥉 Bronze – Long Jump and Javelin

🥈 Silver Success for Iris Beca at the Northern Championships ✨

A fantastic performance from Iris Beca as she claimed the silver medal in the Women’s U18 Hammer Throw Final with an impressive throw of 49.01m.
The result also sees Iris secure qualification for the English Schools’ Athletics Association (ESAA) Championships — a brilliant achievement and reward for all her hard work and dedication.

Also celebrating strong performances from BUH athletes:

⚡ Benjamin To came agonisingly close to the podium in the 100m, placing 4th with a time of 10.78w. Ben also qualified and ran well in the final of the 200m.

⭐ Louie Connolly ran a strong 400m in the U18 men’s final in 51.93.

🏃‍♂️ Marathon Round-Up 🏃‍♀️

A huge well done to our Bolton United Harriers marathon runners who have been smashing it over the last month! 👏🔥

🔹 Manchester Marathon

🌟 Heather Tomlinson produced a superb run to finish 5th in the Elite Women’s race with a PB of 2:44:28
🥈 Mark Wolstencroft clocked an incredible 2:52:00, finishing 2nd M60
🚀 Luke Edwards also ran a fantastic PB of 2:31:45, finishing 40th overall
⚡ Tommy Harrison smashed his PB with 2:36:36
⭐ Thrower, Robert Makin completed his first marathon in 4:51.47
💥Scott Bracey finished strong in 4:39.45

🔹 London Marathon

👏 Martin Reid put in a very strong performance with 2:44:33
💥 Lewis Magee smashed his PB with 2:47:21

A slightly belated but well-deserved shoutout to Olivia Coker on her selection for the Sportshall UK Championships 👏

Olivia delivered a fantastic performance, achieving a new PB of 7.63m in the shot put—a great milestone and a testament to her hard work and consistency.

Her efforts contributed valuable points to the Greater Manchester Team, helping them secure 5th overall in the competition.

A brilliant achievement and plenty more to come—well done, Olivia! 💪

A fantastic day at the BUH Annual Easter Cross Country Race! 🐣🏃‍♂️🏃🏾‍♀️

It was a hugely successful event, with plenty of smiles, energy, and fun—especially from our younger members who gave it their all out on the course. Great to see such enthusiasm and team spirit on display!

A big thank you to Ian Wallis, Ian Jakeway, and all the helpers who worked hard behind the scenes to make the event happen.

🏃‍♂️🔥 Sale Indoor Open Series – Competition Highlights 8th February! 🔥🏃‍♀️

Fantastic performances at the Sale Indoor Open Series, with athletes delivering strong results across the board! 💪👏

From explosive sprints to powerful field events, the competition was packed with determination and personal bests.

Elise Hodgkinson – Hurdles debut with a clear run in 10.38 , equal PB of 1.45m in High Jump and 8.68 in her 60m heat.

Amelie Hodgkiss– Best of 4.25m in Long Jump, 1.35m in High Jump and a PB of 8.89 in the 60m!

Mollie Wood– 5th in the 600m with 1:41.34

Mylah Collier – 1:51.39 in the 600m

Brody Shum – 4.48m in Long Jump and 8.08 in his 60m heat.

Linzi Jones– 2:13.88 in the 600m, 3.33m in Long Jump and 36.50 in the 200m.

Cerys Jones – 2:26.53 in the 600m, 3.97m in Shot Put and 42.03 in the 200m.

Jasmine Greenhalgh– 3:00.48 in the 600m, 2.90m in Shot Put and 52.38 in the 200m.

📢 Proposed Constitutional Changes

Members will be asked to consider the following updates:

1️⃣ Minimum Age for Membership

Members must be in School Year 3 or above to join.

2️⃣ Updated Membership Categories
• Child – School Years 3, 4 & 5
• Junior – School Year 6 to 17 years
• Senior – 18+ years

3️⃣ Family Membership Definition

Defined as 1 adult + 2 children

4️⃣ AGM Quorum Change

Reduce quorum from 20 to 10 eligible members

5️⃣ Committee Meeting Quorum

Minimum 50% of eligible officers or 5 Active Committee members including at least 2 Executive Committee members

6️⃣ Financial Year Update

Financial year end confirmed as 31 March

Huge congratulations to Princess Iwelu at the EA Championships! 👑 🔥

💥 U17 60m
Princess powered through three rounds to qualify for the final, finishing 7th overall and smashing a new PB of 7.62 in the rounds.

🏆 U17 200m
Day 2 belonged to Princess! She set a new PB of 24.62 in the semi-final before storming to GOLD in the final, backing it up with an incredible 24.63.

Six races across the weekend, PBs on the big stage, and a championship title to top it off — an outstanding performance and a weekend to remember.

So proud of you, Princess! 💙💪✨

💥 Northern Indoor U13/U15 Championships 💥

Seven athletes from the club competed at the Northern Indoor Championships, producing an excellent set of performances with plenty of PBs, SBs and medals to celebrate.

🥇 🥇Anastasia Velicka dominated the 60m to win gold with a superb PB of 8.38, after another commanding performance in the long jump, taking gold with a leap of 4.67m.

🥉Jacob Grundy was fantastic in the U13 boys shot put, securing a bronze medal alongside a well-earned PB of 5.83m.

Alicia Moses and William Dodd also impressed, both reaching their respective finals and setting new personal bests in the process, rounding off a highly successful championships for the club.

💥 🥈Scottish Indoor Championships 🥈 💥

Congratulations to Ben To on an excellent performance at the Scottish Indoor Championships, securing 2nd place in the 60m.

Ben won both his heat and semi-final before producing a strong run in the final to claim a well-deserved silver medal.

A fantastic achievement and a credit to the club 💙 🤍 💛
