Bolton Over 35’s Vets League – Division 2
First home game. Eight goals. Plenty of drama. 🔥
Rogues started slowly and found themselves 2-0 down early on, but the setback seemed to wake the lads up.
John got Rogues back into it with his first goal for the club, calmly bringing down a clever ball over the top from Lini before firing home at the second attempt.
The comeback was on. Gaz left the Wyresdale right-back chasing shadows before finding Lini, who made no mistake from close range to make it 2-2.
Then came the goal of the game. Jonny sent two defenders for a hotdog before unleashing a rocket into the top corner. 3-2 Rogues. 🚀
After the break, sloppy defending allowed Wyresdale back into the game and they edged ahead at 4-3.
But Rogues showed great character once again. A superb ball from Lewis found the back post, where Lini arrived to grab his second and make it 4-4.
An entertaining first home game with eight goals, plenty of positives and a brilliant comeback mentality. Rogues are still searching for that first win, but performances like this show it’s coming.
