A huge well done to all of our amazing swimmers who took part in Drowning Prevention Week and earned their certificates! 🎉

Throughout the week, our swimmers learned valuable water safety skills and important lessons that could help keep themselves and others safe around water.

We’re incredibly proud of everyone’s effort, enthusiasm, and commitment to becoming safer, more confident swimmers. Keep up the fantastic work! 💙

Hi All

If you attend swimming lessons at Sharples health hub or St Catherines Academy, please can you make sure you do not use talc in the changing rooms

There are signs of the changing mood to tell you not to use it however I’ve been asked by the management to let everybody know

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Lucy for all the support and encouragement she has given Henry during his swimming lessons. She is incredibly patient, always taking the time to repeat instructions and show him exactly what to do, which has made such a difference to his confidence and ability in the water.

Henry looks forward to his swimming lesson all week, and the progress he has made in such a short time has been amazing. We are so grateful for everything she does and for making swimming such a positive and enjoyable experience for him. X

⚠️ DROWNING PREVENTION WEEK ⚠️

As I'm sure most of you have heard, there have been several fatalities over the last few weeks in open water. Most of them being children 😩

During drowing prevention week this year, all of our swimmers will spend their lesson learning about cold water shock, shouting for help, treading water, floating on their back, staying calm and how to call the emergency services.

Some teachers will be asking higher ability levels to bring long sleeved pants and tops to swim in, in order for them to get a feel what its like to be in the water with your clothes on.

We hope that they will never need to use any of this information and hopefully what they learn can be shared with friends and family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
