Collagen supplement, does it really work?
Many of us reach for this supplement as with the ageing process, collagen production in the body naturally declines (it is commonly found in the skin, bones & connective tissues)
So collagen itself improves skin hydration, elasticity and completion ✔. However, it will not stop your ageing process or treat acne ❌
I normally use this supplement everyday in the morning and in the evening (2.5 - 5g per serve is good)
I use hydrolysed collagen (🍊 flavour) from .nutrition but you can reach for collagen peptites too🙂
It can be mixed with protein or added to your yoghurt, oats, pancakes, shakes, smoothie, coffee, and many more 🍩
However, research about this supplement is still very little so what I would suggest for your overall health is to stay hydrated and eat a balanced diet.
A balanced diet with adequate protein should provide you with enough essential amino acids to boost collagen production.
If you follow a plant-based diet or lack protein in the diet, a collagen supplement may be beneficial 👌🏼
