A beautiful message from Mimi ☺️❤️
Hello everyone! It's nearly the Year of the Fire Horse! It officially starts next week on Feb 17.
Contrary to some predictions I've read that the Fire Horse year brings some serious horsepower of galloping energy, big changes, and big emotions, it's just as possible that this coming horse year could reflect a more balanced expression.
Let's start with horses. They rarely gallop, and only do so when startled or forced. I've seen plenty of horses in nearby pastures and even wild ponies here in England's New Forest. Most of the time, they walk slowly and graze their way through the day. When left alone, they possess a grace, alignment, and freedom that is quite captivating to witness. They are calm yet alert, and highly in tune and responsive to their environment.
Yes, but what about it being a Fire Horse year? Well... Fire is not only about intense, passionate thrill-seeking. In fact, these are signs of excessive and imbalanced Fire. In classical Chinese 5 Phase theory, healthy Fire is about connection, maturity, and calm. It's keeping good company, being spacious and relaxed, and feeling like your spirit is bright.
This Saturday, Feb 14, I’ll be sharing qigong and meditation practices in a Lunar New Year workshop to help celebrate this coming year, and attune to these balanced expressions of the Fire Horse. We will explore how action can arise without urgency, and how spirit can settle into a peaceful inner resting place, even when outer pressures and stress increase.
Though the online spaces for the workshop are fully booked, you're welcome to sign up to receive a link to the recording, which will remain available for 21 days.
Link is in the comments below! Hope you can join me live or when the time best suits you to listen, practice, and explore being on the move in 2026.
