BWAFC 5-3 BLGC Aces

Match day 2 of the season and 1st home game of the year saw us welcome BLGC Aces to the Dale ground.

With last week's disappointing result behind us it was important to go into this game knowing we had to take our chances when they came our way against a team we have had many great battles against over the years.

We started off really well and played some fantastic football at times. It was new striker and signing Isaac who put the wyresdale in front after the ball fell to him after a corner to finish nicely in the bottom corner. Fellow striker chris then added a second to put us 2nil up. Isaac then found his second of the gane with a great strike to make it 3-0

BLGC managed to grab a goal back from a set piece to go into the half time break 3-1

4 changes made at half time and in truth it probs unsettled the rhythm of the game and BLGC rallied and put us under a lot of pressure, isaac then grabbed his hat-trick to make the score 4-1 before BLGC piled on the pressure and before we knew it we conceded two to make it 4-3.

The lads were in a right battle and had to dig deep to keep lads club at arms length, striker chris came back on and thankfully scored his second of the game to make it 5-3 and secure a vital 3 points. Credit to lads club for another great game between the two clubs.

POM goes to CM Bradley regan who battled all game and never stopped working

We now turn our attention to next week where we travel to newcomers Monton JFC

We are looking for experienced players of mid/high ability to strengthen further for next season.

Parents player of the year award goes to midfielder Charlie. Another outstanding season for you mate. Always working hard and defensively solid protecting the back line. Players player of the season goes to el captain Bobby Lord. Another tremendous season for our centre half and captain. One of the best players and kids iv had the pleasure of coaching and your team mates can see how much you bring to the squad. Always consistently solid and your reading of the game is superb. The second managers player of the year award goes to striker chris. One of the hardest working strikers iv seen and puts the miles in. Constant threat and always putting pressure on the opposition's back line. Keep up the fantastic work mate and go even harder next season. Proud of you ⚽️👏💙

Bolton wyresdale under 15s manager player of the year award goes to Rio. Having enjoyed a tremendous season Rio has grown as young man massively with some solid hard working displays. His tireless running off the ball playing in a wing back position. Knowing and understanding his role as attacking but also defensively. Fully deserved your award mate. Been a build up over the last few years and we finally got to see your potential now.
