🖋 1s KEEP FORM GOING AT MURTON 🖋

Sam Sanderson lost the toss which left the CA in bat. Zuhaib Khan was the gem of the innings, providing a hard earned 62 of 110 balls. However, nobody else really got anywhere. Cox made 19 before departing, and Richie Arnott began to score before having to leave the crease. Tight bowling from Murton towards the back end of the innings restricted the CA to 161 AO, with work to do in the field.

Openers Hale and Steadman, although mostly tight, did not take wickets, leaving Hussain to begin the CA's surge for victory. Hussain took the first 5 wickets in a brilliant spell which saw him go for 35 of his 9 overs. Mannem was tight yet again, but it was Rayner and Sanderson who won the match for the CA, with the skipper even taking a hat trick to conclude the innings.

Man of the Match went to Faz Hussain, as his work with the ball gave the CA the surge to win the game. He is sponsored by Crown Sports of East Boldon.

Winning the toss and batting first the CA lost regular wickets and fell too 102 all out. Only 5 making it into double figures with Nasir Ilyas top scoring with 22

Kimblesworth chased the runs down losing only the 4 wickets. 2 of which youngster Benjamin Thompson claimed, and it was 2 in 2 balls

ALL STARS CRICKET BACK AT THE CA

Does your 5-8 year old want to take up a new sport, make friends and have an overall fun time? All Stars provides young children a chance to learn cricket through an age appropriate manner, with lots of games and activities which will help them improve in both cricket and other sporting skills. But more importantly, it provides a chance to make friends and learn a new game entirely.

Each session will take placed from 10AM to 11AM, and each chile will recieve a specialised T-Shirt, a backpack, a bat and a ball. Committee Comments

Once again an eventful week for the club. Our 1s followed up last weekends double victory with a cup win in a bowl off against Horden and a league victory against Murton, including a 5 wicket haul for Faz and hatrick for captain Sam Sanderson.

Our youthful 2nd team were beaten by Kimblesworth but the progress of the juniors who have stepped up to play senior cricket is remarkable.

The Sunday Academy followed up on last week's win with a victory over Ryhope, Shabaz Ali scored 52no to go with his 150 last week.

The midweek team cemented their place at the top of the league with a victory over 2nd top Hylton. Captain Andersen and Raj both took 3 wickets.

Our junior teams were unfortunate this week but their was notable performances from Callum in the U13s, Archie in the U15s and Ella in our U9s.

A great week for the club off the pitch as we were awarded clubmark.

We would like to thank all the players, parents and supporters of the club for their efforts this week. Up the CA.

Time for another weekend of matches at the CA!

At the CA, the 2s host Kimblesworth on Saturday, and on Sunday the Academy host Ryhope Cricket Club. The 1s travel to Murton tomorrow afternoon to try to keep their good form up.

Additionally, World Cup action will be aired in the clubhouse throughout the day, the first few days of an exciting few weeks.

🏏 MATCH REPORT | Boldon CA CC Midweek XI vs Hylton CCC Midweek 3rd Team 🏏

Boldon CA CC Midweek XI produced a disciplined all-round performance to secure a 7-wicket victory over Hylton CCC Midweek 3rd Team in the DNECL Midweek League D2.

After electing to bowl first, Boldon's attack kept the pressure on throughout as Hylton were dismissed for just 48 in 19 overs.

For Hylton, B Long top scored with 17, while C Pemberton added 12 and P Harrison chipped in with 11. The innings never recovered after a series of wickets saw them slip from 35-2 to 48 all out.

The wickets were shared around brilliantly:
⭐ Raj Singh 3-10 from 4 overs⭐
Paul Anderson 3-6 from 3 overs⭐
Tony McGeary 2-8 from 4 overs⭐
Rohan Kang 2-12 from 4 overs

In reply, Boldon reached the target at 49-3 from 14.1 overs.

Stu Smith led the chase with 14, while David Todd struck 13, including the only six of the match. Jeevan Kang was ran out after facing 1 ball, without scoring. Andrew Potts 10 (21)* and Dan Male 9 (19)* calmly guided Boldon home with an unbeaten partnership to seal the win.

Hylton's bowlers fought hard, with C Pemberton (1-7 from 4 overs) and G Davies (1-14 from 4 overs) picking up wickets, but the target proved too small to defend.

👏 A superb bowling display laid the foundation before the batters completed the job to secure another Midweek League victory.
