Ward's Swim Academy Swimming lessons for children on the Swim England Learn to Swim pathway stages 1-10 in the Boldon and South Shields area. All courses will be term time only .

Both group and private (1 to 1 or 1 to 2) lessons available from age 4+. Swimming lessons for children on the Swim England Learn to Swim pathway stages 1-10 in the Boldon and Harton area. Group lessons are available Wednesday afternoons 4-6pm and Saturday mornings 8.30am-1.45pm at Boldon School pool and Sunday mornings 9.30am-11am at Harton academy. One week off on the 27th May for half term.

Saturday 25th April - 18th July.
One week off on the 30th May for half term.

One week off on the 31st May for half term.

Groups have been organised for next term and we will begin to send out term details to everyone. Those on our waiting list have been allocated a space and will receive a notification soon.

We hope everyone is enjoying the summer holidays. Can’t believe we’re halfway through already.

Today is Hallie’s final day teaching with us as she begins her primary school teaching career. We just wanted to say a massive thank you to her for all she’s done with us. The teachers and children will all miss her and we wish her all the best for the future.

Summer course

Thank you to everyone who has enrolled onto our summer course. Class lists have now been finalised and we will send out lesson times etc tomorrow.

As a reminder the lessons are 28th July-1st August.

We still have a very limited number of places available if anyone would still like to join. Please send us a message and we’ll notify you of any spaces.

Summer intensive course
Monday 28th July - Friday 1st August 2025.

We will once again be teaching a one week course during the summer holidays. This will be week 2 of the holidays, 28th July-1st August from 9-11am, for ages 4+.

It will consist of 5x30 minute lessons at Boldon school pool, Monday-Friday, for stages 1-10. Lesson time will depend on your child’s current stage of swimming but will be the same time each day.

The week will cost £40.

You do not need to be a current member of our lessons to enrol for the summer course. These are often very popular so if you would like to enrol or have any further questions please contact us.

Harton pool closed this week

I’ve just received a call from Harton to say a water pipe has burst in the boiler room and has caused a flood. They’ve had to immediately shut the pool and are carrying out the necessary repair work. This will mean that there will be no lessons this weekend at Harton but the pool will be fully repaired for after Easter and the start of our new term.

As this is our last week of term and certificates will be handed out we can offer spaces in tomorrows lessons at Boldon school if you can attend for one week only. Times below are the options available

Harton 9.30am classes can attend the following times. 8.30am, 11.30am, 11.45am, 12pm.

Harton 10am classes can attend the following times. 10.30am, 11am, 12.45pm.

Harton 10.30am class can attend the following times 9am or 1.45pm.

If you’re unable to switch over we will credit you a lesson for next term and hand out certificates after the Easter break.

All sessions are 11 weeks. We will message everyone with lesson times in the coming days.

Harton Lessons cancelled today

We’ve arrived at the pool today and the pump is not working so chlorine levels are extremely low. We’ve had to therefore cancel today’s lesson. Apologies for late notice.

Boldon swimmers

There has been an updated health and safety guidance which now means all spectators must wear overshoes if on poolside. This includes sitting in the darker tiled spectator area. Overshoes are provided next to the entrances to the poolside. Alternatively you can bring indoor shoes such as flip flops or go barefoot.

This is being put in place to reduce contaminants which may enter the water so we kindly ask if you can adhere to these new regulations.
