⬇️READ CAPTION⬇️
▶️Discipline and motivation are both important qualities for achieving success in life, but discipline is often more important than motivation. While motivation can help you get started and keep you going for a short period, discipline is what keeps you going in the long run.
▶️Motivation is an emotion that comes and goes. It can be triggered by external factors such as a pep talk from a coach or a motivational quote, but it can also fade away quickly if not supported by a strong foundation of discipline. On the other hand, discipline is a habit that you cultivate through consistent practice, and it is something that you can rely on even when your motivation wanes.
▶️Discipline allows you to take consistent action towards your goals, even when you don't feel like it. For example, if you have a goal of exercising for 30 minutes a day, discipline is what allows you to get up and exercise, even on days when you feel tired or unmotivated. With discipline, you can make progress towards your goals even when you don't feel like it.
▶️Furthermore, discipline allows you to develop good habits that become automatic over time. When you have the discipline to consistently practice good habits, such as waking up early, eating healthily, or practicing mindfulness, they become a part of your routine, and you don't have to rely on motivation to keep doing them.
▶️In contrast, relying solely on motivation can lead to inconsistency and lack of progress. When you rely on motivation alone, you may find yourself making progress one day and then falling back into old habits the next. This inconsistency can be demotivating and make it harder to achieve your goals.

Been a while since I posted🙃
Trying to balance 3rd Year Uni, work, gym and social life is going to be interesting to say the least, but I certainly like being occupied rather than having too much time on my hands 💯

The GIF says it all...
Within the lockdown period I had tried my best to maintain what I had with mostly a pair dumbbells. There had been at least 2-3 weeks that I completely disregarded training as I had no real motivation, this affected my mood and took a toll on my happiness. The most I'd do was 3-4 sessions per week, involving full-body routines and consisting of a few supersets to keep my conditioning at a relatively good level.
I really had no idea what I was getting myself into after the gyms had re-opened. It was almost like stepping into a very unfamiliar environment, trying to regain some sort of comfortability. Knowing I was going to be HELLA WEAK and now have to slowly build the engine that once was. By no means was I optimal, however, I was a little bigger and a fair bit stronger!
To all of you that are experiencing the same setbacks, patience is key. If you're serious about training, record your workouts, follow a training plan RELIGOUSLY, and I mean for WEEKS AND WEEKS. if you follow that one piece of advice, you'll be surprised how quickly you'll progress, especially if you were serious about training before. (Muscle memory helps!)
Lets get that stength back 💪🏾

-BUILD A BIGGER BACK/BULLET-PROOF YOUR SHOULDERS-
One of my favorites when it comes to bsck exercises... The T-Bar Row
Not only does it light up your mid-back & lats 🔥 the static position for this exercise requires a lot of core stability, along with solid postural muscles like the spinal erectors (muscles that run up your spine)
Use small plates for more adaquate range of motion 👌🏾
Excuses? Nah, go get it 🏋🏽

🏋🏽 TRAINING TIP #7/10 🏋🏽
-How to set up for the Dumbbell Bench Press in a safer way-
I've seen it so many times, gym-goers using unnecessary energy to get the weights up initally, in which impacts their overall performance!
But how about being able to set yourself up when using heavy dumbbells, with no need for a spotter!?
Hope this video is useful and if you know anyone who needs this advise, tag them!
Thanks for watching 👍🏽😁

Here's my man Nick Collyer after he's finished his 4-Week, 8 Session package with me...
Training is and has always been about slow and consistent progress, Nick came to me with a few goals and one of which is to drop some weight and body fat. It isn't a significant drop, however there is progress and it's only been 4 weeks of training!
If continued, there would no doubt be more progress made 💪🏾
