𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘃𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆

We apologise for a delayed match report this week!

In a rain affected first innings, Menheniot/Looe opted to bat in what turned out to be a 35 overs a side match.

After an opening stand of 45, the deadlock was broken with an incredible slip catch by Simon Clay off the bowling of Loic Pennington.

The Arrows took regular wickets, from then on with Clay (2-11), Boyling (2-12), T. Jago (2-44), Carter (1-27) and L.Pennington (1-24) all getting in on the act, reducing the away side to 150-8.

The Arrows were dominant in the second innings with Mark Pennington (54) and Isaac Jago (42) putting on 101 for the first partnership and Jack Carter with a quick fire 17.

The most humorous bit of proceedings was Simon Clay walking out with 31 still required and finished on 0* off 0 balls as Pennington dispatched the part time bowlers to all parts of the ground.

Pencarrow finish in 3rd place and a remarkable 9 games unbeaten. We host our awards night tomorrow night and look forward to sharing some of the highlights of our season over the next week!

It comes down to the last game of an incredible season, can the Arrows make it nine unbeaten? Just the two points required to finish 3rd, a stellar effort after finishing 8th last season and with pretty much the same squad! 🤯

Two changes this week to face Menheniot-Looe Cricket Club 2s, Archie Pennington is dropped after his 135* last week (he's on DofE really!) and Kev Sherratt sits out as he's got his raving shoes on!

Coming in, the Chairman Eddie Thomson and the economy eagle Loic Pennington who is back from holiday. 🦅

Players on both the batting and bowling honours boards this week!

A huge congrats to Archie Pennington for his incredible 134* on Saturday in our victory over Lanhydrock 2s, coming second on this week’s honours board and to Simon Clay for his 5-49 in the second innings whose regular wickets came at crucial times!

The last dance of 2026, a chance to make it nine games unbeaten, an opportunity to go the second half of the season unbeaten, two points to guarantee third place but its the win we are really after 🏏

Congratulations to our Wednesday wicket taking superstar Archie Ball and the rest of the Cornwall Super 9s team who became National Disability Cricket Champions yesterday after they defeated Middlesex in the final. 🏆

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁

Pencarrow visited already promoted Lanhydrock 2s yesterday in a bid to make it eight unbeaten and got off to a solid start at 40-1.

Cue a famous Pencarrow batting collapse, which left everyone stunned and our opponents with their tails up as Lanhydrock stormed through the top order leaving us 43-5.

The rebuild job was on and Kev Sherratt (22) played a crucial knock in keeping things calm as he left Archie Pennington to go up through the gears. When Kev departed, Pencarrow were 141-6 with plenty to do on a batting track.

Pennington was joined by Jake Boyling (18) and both youngsters hit free flowing shots to all parts of the ground.

However it was Pennington who stole the show, on the very ground of his famous 90* a few months ago, Archie hit 17 fours and 6 sixes including 4 sixes in four balls in one over, hitting one into the National Trust car park!

Pencarrow finished on 224 with Pennington 134 not out. A truly special innings by a special cricketer.

Lanhydrock started well and the pressure was on before Simon Clay (5-49) got the important wicket of Jamie Taylor with the stumping by Kev Sherratt, one of two stumpings for Kev. Simon again getting the match ball for his efforts in a monumental season.

Jack Carter bowled well picking up 1-40 off his 10 overs but it was Captain Tristan Jago whose second spell put the Arrows on course for victory finishing with figures 4-41 and yet again leading the way.

As Lanhydrock attacked it was left to some brilliant catches most notably from Liam Coles and Isaac Jago with the latter’s catch coming down with snow on.

Pencarrow bowled LCC out for 199 and are now eight unbeaten in the league!!

134 not out for Archie Pennington and 5fer for Simon Clay as Pencarrow go 8 (Eight!!!!) unbeaten, defeating promoted Lanhydrock 2s today, a mention also for a crucial 4 wickets for out of picture captain Tristan Jago.

We make the short journey this week to the other side of Bodmin in what is set to be a cracker.

The Arrows look to all but cement 3rd place and make it an incredible eight game unbeaten, whereas 2nd place Lanhydrock will be desperate for the win as they look to take the title to the final game of the season. The weather is set fair and the bar will be open all day.

Just the one change this week as Chairman Eddie Thomson drops out and is replaced by Danny C**k.
