Bloxwich Golf Club came out on top in the Grand Final of the Greene King IPA Sports Quiz held at Moseley Rugby Club. In a very tight contest, Bloxwich Golf Club defeated the team from the Cabin in Sedgley by a single point with teams from the Bulls Head in Hall Green and Sandwell Park Golf Club finishing in joint third place.

Over 100 pubs and clubs in the Midlands have taken part in the competition with the top teams from each venue going forward to regional finals and then the best teams battling it out for the prize of free beer for a year in the Grand Final.

During the introduction at the Greene King IPA Sports Quiz regional final at Aston Wood Golf Club, it was announced that the prize was free beer for a year, which amounted to 365 bottles of Greene King IPA for each member of the winning team. Pete Oddy from Sutton Coldfield Squash Club (pictured) helpfully pointed out that 2016 is a leap year and that the winners should get an extra bottle each. We'll see what we can do, Pete.

The team from Bloxwich Golf Club came out on top at the last Greene King IPA Sports Quiz regional final. Pictured are Alan Redfern, Dave Walters, Dave Corns and Neil Gould from the winning team. They scored a fantastic 65 points out of a possible 80 holding off teams from Aston Wood Golf Club, the Wylde Green Hungry Horse and Sutton Coldfield Squash Club. All four teams have qualified for the grand final to be held at Moseley Rugby Club on Monday 13th July and hosted by BBC Radio WM's Paul Franks.

The Bulls Head from Hall Green came out on top in the regional final of the Greene King IPA Sports Quiz at Oscott Social Club. Pictured are the winning team members Andy Smith, Pete Parsons, Gary Edwards and Adam Lawrence. The Bulls Head team scored 62 points finishing four points in front of the runners-up, Dave Deakin, Paul Bridgwater, John Withey and David Maguire, from the Crown in Erdington. Both teams have progressed to the Grand Final at Moseley Rugby Club on Monday 13th July.

In a hard fought regional final at Swindon Golf Club in the Greene King IPA sports quiz, the teams representing Sandwell Park Golf Club and Worcester Warriors Rugby Club came out on top and have qualified for the Grand Final to be held at Moseley Rugby Club in Monday 13th July. Sandwell Park ran out winners in a tightly fought contest scoring 67 out of a possible 80 with Worcester Warriors scoring 64.

Blues legends Kenny Burns, Paul Devlin, Geoff Horsfield and Kevin Ashley performed admirably at the Greene King IPA Sports Quiz at Kings Heath Cricket Club finishing in third place behind the winning team Claret Cake. Claret Cake tied with Toby's Team on 40 points with the team of Birmingham City former players in third place with 38 points.

Sky Sports pundit and former Wolves goalkeeper Matt Murray joined locals at the Red Lion Inn in Bobbington to take part in the Greene King IPA Sports Quiz. Matt joined forces with John Cope, Darren Beech and Andy Burton. Trailing by a point to a team called Bottom of the League at half time, Matt, Darren, John and Andy came back strong to win the quiz by four points.
