Hi everyone 💛

We are very lucky to be having a rather dreamy time in Canada but I’m looking forward to being back and seeing you all again from the evening of Monday the 14th.

I’m going to be back a little later than expected, so I won’t make the Monday 14th September morning class. The legend that is Sophie Ranson is swooping in to save the day and will be covering again and bringing some lovely yoga to your Monday morning instead 🧘‍♀️

I hope you’ve all loved having Sophie taking your classes over the past couple of weeks. She’s been such a star and I’m so grateful to her for keeping everything going while I’ve been away!

I will be back for the Monday 14th September evening class at 7.30pm at Cairngorm School of Dance. 💪✨

See you very soon! xx

July’s little challenge 🏃🏼‍♀️

Some of you have been asking what was all that running about so let me explain because I realise I didn’t 😂…

The day before July, on a whim of course, I decided to do a 5k every day in July (mostly runs), and it actually ended up being a really nice way to get through the month. Some days were lush and I would say to myself “wow I love running” and others days I wanted to burn my trainers to the ground… but we made it 😂

I had a simple little goal: could I knock some time off my 5k? I’ve only really been doing the odd Parkrun over the last year, and my fastest 5k before July was 31 minutes.

And by the end of the month I got it down to 27:22 which I was very proud of ✨ I know people can do this distance sooooo much faster but I am just comparing myself to me and it feels great to have set a wee goal and to have achieved it.

Massive thank you as well to those who came out and ran with me at different points through the month 💃🏻 it honestly made such a difference having company (and definitely made the tougher days way easier!). Really appreciated all the support and encouragement ❤️

Side note: I definitely wouldn’t recommend going from one 5k a week to seven 5ks a week 😂 A gradual build-up would be a much better idea. But I do love a challenge every now and then, especially when I need a bit of motivation.

Loved doing it, really happy with that wee improvement… but I was also VERY glad to see August arrive 😂🏃🏼‍♀️

Mondays musings ✨ What if movement wasn’t punishment… but an act of self-respect?

Not to shrink.
Not to fix.
Not to “make up” for food.

But to feel strong.
To feel grounded.
To care for this lovely body of ours that carries us through life 🤍

Heart full from getting my meditation on in the beautiful Welsh countryside and wanted to share this Mary Oliver poem that touched me.

Wild Geese 🪿 ✨
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting —
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

✨ Welcome Sophie ✨

We’re very lucky to have the wonderful Sophie Ranson teaching some yoga classes over the next couple of weeks.

Sophie is a dynamic yoga and breathwork instructor equipped with training in Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow and pranayama from Goa, India. She blends her passion for strength training into much of her teaching, often leading powerful flows accessible to all, which draw on her own practices in Dharma and Yogasana.

Sophie is also a freelance writer with a specialist interest in nature, health and sports. If not on the mat, she’s happiest on the trail, up a mountain or playing among waves.

I’ll be away from 14th–23rd May, heading off to Wales & Manchester with friends, but most classes will still be running as normal while I’m away.

You don’t need to do anything differently - just book onto classes exactly as normal, it’ll simply be Sophie there instead of me.

The only classes not running are the Friday morning sessions. If you usually come along on Fridays and can’t make another class, just send me a message.

💻 Breakfast Club Online
These will still be running with me as usual, with just two earlier starts:
• Monday 18th May – 6.15am
• Wednesday 20th May – 6.15am
All other sessions stay at the usual 6.45am start.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us - either for a one-off class or monthly membership - head to speypilates.com or email for more info 💛

Please give Sophie a very warm welcome while I’m away - I know you’ll all love her 💛
