Two different bodies 8 years apart.
There is 7 Ibs difference between the two photo's.
My diet on the right was very strict. I was uneducated and followed weight watchers at the time. I didn't care what i had to do to get there i just had to see the number on the scales go down. I was obsessed with it. My exercise consisted of hours a week of cardio and i binged on what i used to call cheat days. All i wanted was to look skinny and i ended up looking just that. Just skinny. No shape at all just skin over my bones. If only you could have a word with your younger self and tell her everything you know and believe now.
The photo on the right is having a great relationship with food. Fuelling my body with what it needs and loving it enough to exercise. It's being strong physically and mentally. It's enjoying social events, being able to eat cake guilt free and weight training 4 times per week. It's honestly that simple. It doesn't have to be complicated.
Nutrition and exercise is so underrated. It's honestly essential for mind, body and soul.
Whenever I'm feeling down or just having a bad week i pick up those weights, eat better and i instantly feel better. Don't exercise to punish yourself, exercise to feel better and because you can. Eat to fuel your body and most importantly treat good nutrition and exercise as a lifestyle, not just a quick fix diet that lasts a few weeks.
Don't ruin your new year's resolution on a diet or exercise plan that isn't realistic. Focus on something that you can stick too long term and can enjoy.
Try that new exercise class or new machine at the gym and smash the hell out of 2020. Start the new decade in a positive, happy and healthy way.
