Deeply saddened to share the news that Fred Wyres passed away this morning.

An extremely popular supporter and volunteer - Fred was a much loved part of the Spartans family for many decades.

One of the original Delaval Spartans, Fred followed the club home and away for many decades - working on the gate as a turnstile operator for several years during that time.

RIP Fred, you really be sorely missed.

Sadly the only image we have at present is Liam Henderson in some rather questionable shorts ๐Ÿ˜‚

He did however make it out of the pub last night and get down in time for it to the surprise of many of us - so well done that man ๐Ÿ˜…

Didnโ€™t get the chance to do a , so hereโ€™s a quick to the opening day of the 2021/22 campaign against Alfeton Town - where a JJ Oโ€™Donnell brace secured a 2-0 victory in front of 1,260, in the clubโ€™s first ever game back the after COVID-19 pandemic.

That summer saw manager Michael Nelson โ€˜get the band back togetherโ€™ with fan favourites Dan Maguire, Sean Reid, Michael Liddle, Jordan Watson, Nathan Buddle and Robbie Dale all returning to the club.

The positivity flowing through the club that summer was palpable, with the return of the above and the additions of JJ Oโ€™Donnell, Alex Mitchell and Jordan Hickey adding to the mix of established crowd pleasers.
