On a scorching hot bank holiday Saturday we only had 17 members playing. Apparently there is more to life than golf 🤷‍♂️!
The story of the day was the winner Brian Bailey ( top left) A guy in his 80's who playes with us every weekend he can and will always be welcome. He was our club president for several years and we all appreciate what he done for our club 👏 He scored a massive 39 points from the White's ( playing off 36) just winning on c/b and picking up £20 and a smile that lasted all day. He just beat a good friend Martin Murray ( top right) on c/b 39 points is a massive score from our white tee's he picked up £15 for some excellent golf. Coming 3rd with a very respectable 38 points was dean Dean mcbroom ( bottom left) who for most of the day was the leader in the clubhouse and must have thought he had won! Unlucky deano but you did get a £10 for your efforts. Lastly we had 2 2's today each scoping £12 and they were Jason Eggleton & Martin New. Well done guy's see you next Saturday 👏

Summer Opening Hours at Windmill Hill Golf Club ⛳

We’re ready for long evenings, great company, and plenty of time on the course and in the clubhouse! Here are our summer opening times:

Monday: 6pm – 11pm
Tuesday: 6pm – 11pm
Wednesday: 6pm – 11pm
Thursday: 5pm – 11pm
Friday: 2pm – 11pm
Saturday: 12pm – 11pm
Sunday: 12pm – 8pm

Presidents Day was a roaring success. The format was a simple texas scramble. 17 teams entered on what was the warmest day of the year, and some great golf shots were made. With all holes sponsored longest drive & nearest pin & nearest in 2 all had a £20 prize. And the winners ( to many to name) deserved every penny 👏.
The runaway winners with a nett score of 54.8 was G.
Gary Obrian. Kevin Greengrass. Joe Greengrass & Drew Carswell all picking up £40 👏. There was a tie for 2nd&3rd place only being decided on c/b ( 58.5 score) in second place picking up £30 each was Hatley mercer Fletcher Hopkins Mark Ford & Joe kidd 👏 coming 3rd and picking up £20 for there efforts was Dan monaghan M. Horwood Gary mcgovern and his son Lewis mcgovern. 👏. Thanks to everyone who helped and got involved 👏👏. Between us we raised £665 for the presidents fund which supports our junior academy. At the moment we have 12 juniors who have group lessons in the summer holidays with one of the pro's who work at the driving range. We aim to expand this and if you are looking for a route for your child to start playing golf please message me on here and I will give you more details.
