Easter Camps done! Great turn out this week with 23 children on day one and 17 on day two.

Well done kiddos working hard on all areas of the game and together as one big group. Love seeing the power of team work and togetherness 👊🏻

However, couldn’t have done it without help from Oleia as my helper this week. You were a legend and little star 🤩 fantastic leader in the making and very good with all juniors big and small.

More dates coming soon for May half term and summer so keep an eye out folks 👀

🎃👻That’s a wrap for October👻🎃

Pretty good turn out over the half despite the rain and wind! 26 brave souls took on the spooky/scary challenges set by coach Leah this week 🤪😈 and successfully completed them 👊🏻

We even managed to get out on the course and tackle the terrifying wet muddy lies with no bother 💪🏻. Well done kids and looking forward to seeing you at the next one.

👩🏼‍🏫Stages of Learning 📝

Learning a new skill or swing move can be tricky… and even trickier for a small human sometimes! So how do we tackle this?

Go in stages and slow things down 🐌

This is little Isla who has been on her golfing journey since she was 2.5 years old 🥰 she loves the game and has now started to play in competitions and even qualified for the this year.

Now the season is over, she wants to build on her foundations ready for next year. This session we worked on trying to lengthen her backswing with driver to gain more speed and distance. To do this she needed to swing the club more out on the takeaway to allow those arms swing high to the sky.

We started with slow practice swing and gradually built the speed up to get to the end result… bombs away 🚀💣

Isla loves to lead and no better way to see if she has understood the info than letting her pretend to do a tutorial video.

Well done girlie! Keep being you and enjoying the journey your way. Well done and for being such legend parents and supporting Isla on her journey. You parents play virtual role in development and our brilliant at letting Isla be Isla and allowing for self motivation.

🤔🧠WANT TO KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS…🧐💭

As a junior coach I put high emphasis on life learning skills as well as the golf skills. Today I thought I would tackle the “responsibility” chat that the juniors need to learn.

It was great to hear their thoughts and the similarities and commonality the kids have from ages 4 to 14 but also interesting to see how it changes as they do get older. I also asked how would having responsibility and benefit or help you?

Have a little look at the pictures of their answers as i felt it gave a good insight as where their minds are for their age and what potentially will motivate them.

As either parent or junior coach, how do you incorporate this into your lessons/coach responsibility to the kids?

Let me know in the comments or DM as it’s always nice to get perspective from others and how I could use that to help with my learning and help incorporate into my future lessons.

Only a few weeks to go until October half term is here!

It’s been a long few weeks returning back to school and these little humans need some down relax time hey?

Maybe to help with this and give them an activity to try, come signup to one of my camp days I will be running during the week?

Ages 4.5 - 6) 10am - 1pm
Ages 7+) 10am - 4pm

Open to all juniors of any ability, equipment provided and an opportunity for the kids to learn golf in fun, relaxed and safe environment. Kids will learn to play via fun games and challenges.

Hope this message finds you all well?

Not long until the summer holidays are here and school is out! With that are the kids sorted with activities to keep them entertained? Or are you stuck for ideas? Maybe I can help?

I will be running summer camps throughout the holidays for ages 4.5 - 6 and 7+ years old. Below are all the dates, details and costs:

Tuesday 23rd July, Wednesday 24th July & Thursday 25th July

Tuesday 30th July, Wednesday 31st July & Thursday 1st August

Tuesday 6th August, Wednesday 7th August & Thursday 8th August

Tuesday 13th August, Wednesday 14th August & Thursday 15th August

Tuesday 20th August, Wednesday 21st August & Thursday 22nd August

Tuesday 27th August, Wednesday 28th August & Thursday 29th August

Ages 4.5 - 6 years old 10.00am - 1.00pm
Ages 7+ years old 1.30pm - 4.30pm
£35 per day per child
Maximum 12 spaces per camp

Sessions will mainly be held at the Langstone Cliff Hotel practice field and depending on class size some of the sessions for the ages 7+ will run at the Warren GC on the actual golf course. The camp days have been designed to help with the development of motor, fitness, golf and life learning skills within a fun and safe environment. No golf experience is required and the camps are open to all juniors. Equipment and clubs are provided for those who do not have their own and dress code is just comfy clothes and footwear.
