A group of anglers recently stayed at Fleece Lodge and, with fishing arranged in advance, spent time on both Home Pool and Chad Pool. Carp and tench were among their catches.

Tony landed this broad-shouldered Home Pool mirror at 22 lb 2 oz and Lee and Paul banked these lovely Chad Pool commons.

Experienced carp-angling groups staying at Fleece Lodge may request fishing in advance, subject to approval, availability and fishery rules.

Rambo - six months on 🎣

Rambo arrived at Chad Pool from VS Fisheries on 20 February 2026 at 12 lb 4 oz. He has now made his first appearance on the bank, caught by our regular Andy Meakin.

No exact weight was recorded, but Rambo is clearly filling out nicely and developing into a very impressive mirror carp.

They grow up so fast! 🐟

The young angler in the first photograph is Arthur. When he caught this little Home Pool mirror at 4lb 6oz on 2 May, he named the fish after himself!

Just 97 days later, Arthur the carp was caught again at 5lb 14oz - a gain of 1lb 8oz.

It is wonderful to watch our younger carp develop, and we look forward to following Arthur’s progress over the coming years🥰
