New season. New beginnings.

After leading the side with commitment and passion, Haydn has stepped down as First Team Captain. We'd like to thank him for everything he's given the club and his leadership over the past seasons.

We're delighted to announce Josh Gibbs as our new First Team Captain.

Josh joined the club last season and quickly made his mark, bringing a wealth of experience, fresh ideas, and filling a hole at fly-half.

His leadership on the pitch was clear for everyone to see, while his willingness to embrace the club's social side 🍻 made him a popular figure off it too.

Here's what Josh had to say about taking on the role:

"I'm incredibly proud to be captaining such a great group of lads this season. We've got a squad full of talent, character and players who are always willing to put in the work for each other. My aim is to help create an environment where everyone enjoys their rugby, keeps improving, and gives everything for the badge. If we stay committed, work hard for one another, and keep building the strong culture we've got here, I'm confident we can achieve some great things together - both on and off the pitch. I can't wait to get started with the boys and see what we can accomplish as a club."

🚨 Head Coach Announcement 🚨

We're delighted to introduce Rodney Hutson as Head Coach of Blandford RFC for the 2026/27 season.

Rodney is a coach through and through. His focus has always been on developing players, getting the very best out of the squad, and creating an environment where everyone can improve. He's never been one for the spotlight or the background admin – he'd much rather be out on the training pitch helping players grow.

On taking on the role, Rodney said:

"It's a real honour to be Head Coach for the 2026/27 season. I'm really enjoying working with the players. My focus is simple – keep my head down, work hard, and help every player get the most out of themselves at training and on matchdays."

We're excited to have Rodney leading the coaching team this season and can't wait to see what the squad can achieve together.

Delighted to welcome Sam Gibbs to Blandford Rugby Club!

A big second row, Sam runs outstanding attacking lines, punches holes through defences, and never shies away from putting in some huge hits in defence. He's a physical presence around the park and we're excited to see what he'll bring in the red & gold this season.
Here's what Sam had to say:

"Really excited to join Blandford. I've been down to support last season and they are a great bunch of lads. I'm excited to pull on the red & gold with some old friends and my brother again. I'm excited to see what we can achieve this season!"
