Hi, I’m Charlie and I’m the founder, co-owner and Head Coach of CrossFit 258.
My first taste of CrossFit was The Open in 2021, 3 months after having my leg cut off following 8 pretty rough years since getting injured in the Army in 2012. Since then I’ve not stopped. From learning to walk, get up off the floor, jump on boxes to overhead squatting over 100kg, deadlifting over 200kg and being really good at pistol squats (on one of my legs…)
I opened CrossFit 258 in 2022. I’m a Level 2 Coach, adaptive and inclusive trainer & Kids CrossFit qualified.
I’d never done CrossFit before my amputation and my amputation came 8 years after my injury. I was weak, frail and was still learning to walk again. I’m a big advocate of “whatever your level of fitness, CrossFit is for you”.
As a coach, I’ll let you ask the members what I’m like. (Members - be very careful…)
Seriously though, CrossFit helped me do life and I love it when I see others getting the same from it, that’s pretty mega.
Outside the gym I enjoy changing nappies, sterilising bottles and sleeping as little as possible. (I have a 5 month old son).
I went to the Invictus Games in 2023, I qualified for the CrossFit Games in 2024 and came 5th in my category. I took last year out from competing due to the nipper being brewed and born, this year the plan is to go back to the CrossFit Games and aim for the podium.
See you in the gym 🫡🦿
