A cracking start to the 1457 Society season at Southerness Golf Club yesterday.

Sunshine, showers, and a biting wind made for a proper test on this classic links overlooking the Solway Firth but that’s exactly how links golf should be.

The course was in excellent condition for so early in the year, and we were looked after superbly with a warm welcome and a great lunch.

Most importantly, it was a fun day spent in great company.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, we’re already looking forward to the next one at Montrose Links next month.

One of our favourite 1457 Society traditions of the year… our annual Nine Holers Day at Comrie Golf Club and St Fillans Golf Club. Two wonderful little courses, tucked away in the beautiful Perthshire countryside, that always deliver such a special day. Add in fantastic company, plenty of laughs, and a great meal to finish it all off. Honestly, what’s not to love.

The Society had the pleasure of visiting Cabot Highlands at the weekend, playing both Castle Stuart Golf Links and the brand-new Old Petty in perfect weather for golf. Warm temperatures, a gentle breeze, and great camaraderie made for an unforgettable couple of days in the Scottish Highlands.

From sweeping views over the Moray Firth and the Black Isle to the timeless challenge of links golf, Cabot Highlands delivered everything we could have hoped for and more.

What a great day at Archerfield Links for our latest 1457 Society event!

The course was in fantastic shape, the practice and clubhouse facilities were top-class, and the staff treated us like royalty. Even better, the company was superb!

Another fun day with the 1457 Society members at Links Golf Elie! A wonderful old links originally laid out by Old Tom and later modified by James Braid. Afterwards we headed over for a fascinating and entertaining hickory session with The Hickory Golf Workshop. Laughter, learning, and great memories made!

Another cracking 1457 society day out discovering the joy of 9-hole courses in Perthshire. Stunning landscapes, great camaraderie and the perfect blend of challenge and beauty. We had a lot of fun embracing the shorter game on our latest adventure at Comrie Golf Club and St Fillans Golf Club.

What an unforgettable day at Shiskine Golf And Tennis Club on the Isle of Arran! The return ferry trip was buzzing with stories from the course. The consensus? This may have been our best event to date! Ideal weather for golf, stunning views, and some fun shots made for a legendary trip. Huge thanks to everyone who came along and made it so special.
