Another bike through the doors of mike's bike repairs and finally returning to its owner. It came in with a broken gear hanger and a seized (and I mean really seized) headset.
New headset fitted and new gear hanger fitted. Then the gears were tuned, cleaned and serviced. Oh and some new grips as the old ones were falling apart

Remember, it's ride the lights tomorrow night! Hopefully the weather behaves itself!
Pump up your tyres, put your lights on the bikes and wear a helmet (not the law in this country but still recommended) and be safe!

Today was a "quick fix" . Unfortunately some unruly child jumped into the gears of another child's bike. The rear mech was broken and the rear hanger was bent.
A new rear mech was fitted after straightening the original hanger but the gears weren't shifting as crisp as I liked. I was also unsure about the integrity of the hanger after being bent so much so I fitted a new hanger as well. Everything lined in perfectly and the gears were shifting as well as can be again. I just hope that the child who damaged the bike is punished for his actions.
Either way, one bike back rolling smoothly again! 😊

And..... Closed! I'm away for a last minute break and closed all next week. If it can wait until I reopen on the 24th August, I will gladly help you but for now, I'm closed
On a side note, British cycling is having an family event in Blackpool on the 20th near the Solaris centre between 11am and 2pm

And........ Closed!

Slowly getting through the back log. The joys of having to order parts in.
Fortunately for this one, the parts was generally cheapest at the local Halfords.
The rear mech came in badly bent up. I managed to straighten it to a point but with the intention of replacing it for a nice new Shimano altus one. It was just so I could see what else needed doing so I could get that done while waiting to collect the rear mech. All gone smoothly and one bike fixed and serviced ready to be enjoyed again 😎🚲

Two fixed bikes tonight. After waiting on parts for days, the final pieces to the puzzles arrived.
The orange bike came in for new shifters, chain, freewheel and rear mech. Then a quick service and a new brake cable.
The 2nd bike came in originally just to have new gear cable and outer cable sections fitted but on starting the job, I realised that the rear mech fitted was not compatible with the shifter. For started, it was a shimtemu rear mech which is for 6/7 gears. The cassette fitted was 9 gears. Next the shifter was a SRAM x5 which if you know SRAM, depending what speed gearing your using, it has a different pull ration to Shimano. The customer ordered the rear mech and as soon I got home from work, I i got it fitted. All shifting nicely!

Hi, just to let you know, I will be closing for a week from the 14th of August. A well deserved break is required! From my main work and bike repairs. The last week at my main job is ridiculous and the bike repairs here are building and waiting on parts.
