This time next week, the **Fairhaven Flyer 10K** will be ready for take-off! ✈️

The countdown is well and truly on. A fast, flat 10K, a fantastic coastal route and that race-day buzz waiting at the start line.

There are races you enter for a PB.
There are races you enter for the challenge.

On **Remembrance Sunday**, we come together in Lytham for the **Windmill Remembrance 10K** — a morning of running, reflection and remembrance.

Before the running begins, we remember those who served and sacrificed.

Then we run. Together.

Past one of Lytham's most iconic landmarks, surrounded by fellow runners sharing a very special occasion.

Some runs feel amazing.

The legs feel good, the pace feels easy and you remember exactly why you love running.

Other runs? Every mile feels like hard work and you spend half of it wondering why you bothered putting your trainers on.

**But here's the thing — they all count.**

Running is supposed to clear your head… apparently. 😂

But what is *actually* going through your mind while you’re clocking up the miles?

🍝 What’s for tea?
🔐 Did I lock the front door?
⛰️ Why does this hill NEVER end?
💡 I have just solved every problem in my life!
🤔 Or absolutely, completely… **nothing?**

Maybe you plan your week, replay conversations from ten years ago, make important life decisions or spend 5 miles wondering why you ever thought going for a run was a good idea. 😂

**FAQ: Gun Time vs Chip Time – What's the difference? 🏁⏱️**

You've crossed the finish line, checked the results and spotted that someone with a slower chip time is above you... so what's going on?

It all comes down to **gun time vs chip time**.

🏁 **Gun time** starts from the official start of the race and is used to determine your **official race position**.

⏱️ **Chip time** starts when you personally cross the start timing point and stops when you cross the finish — giving you your own elapsed time around the course.

If you start further back in the field, your chip time may therefore be faster than someone who finishes ahead of you in the official results.

So when you're looking at the results and wondering why they're not in chip-time order — **race positions are determined by gun time.**

Two times. Two slightly different purposes. Hopefully that clears up one of those little race-day mysteries! 😊
